We had a fabulous 3 night stay at Fabbrica di San Martino, a short drive from Lucca. What a fantastic place to stay. It is more or less a country estate with the main house and lovely garden and the old stable block set in large vine and olive growing fields with spectacular countryside views. Our hosts were lovely and... More

We stayed 4 nights in a very comfortale farmhouse apartment with a large bedroom and large dining/living room/ kitchen. I had obsessed about whether to stay within the Lucca walls or outside, and before we arrived, I was concerned that I had made the wrong decision. As it turns out, my decision was absolutely right. The countryside at the Fabbrica... More

I feel guilty for not writing this review so much earlier! My husband and I spent 4 nights here on our honeymoon in Oct 2013. I could have stayed a month. I have always wanted to stay in a "typical tuscan villa" in the countryside and this place was perfect. We had a HUGE room on the mail floor of... More

Hotel Fabbrica di San Martino is exactly what we were looking for when we decided to visit Lucca. The is a traditional place with great attention to detail and the villas are very spacious. The view of the area is fantastic and this is the ideal place to stay and explore Tuscany. Breakfast was particularly good with great choices. The... More

WOW.............Giovanna made us so welcome at her amazing home which has been in her family since the early 1700s- to walk into her vestibule was like sauntering into a museum, with wonderful architecture and art to match! We stayed on the top floor of this fantastic villa and had three enormous rooms to ourselves- the view from here was absolutely... More

This is the most amazing place I have ever stayed. We had a room, actually a suite, in a Villa full of the original furniture and full of eclectic artwork and furnishings. The pool was clean, huge and sparkling. Breakfast on the portico with views to die for. The setting was so peaceful, quiet and private. I would recommend everyone... More

We stayed here (in the main villa) for two days in June and had an amazing time. First, the views of the nearby towns and the countryside from the windows of the villa are amazing. The property is set upon some elevation so it gets a nice cool breeze even when it is hot elsewhere. The property is the perfect... More

We didn't really know what to expect, having never stayed at a farmhouse property, but we were very, very impressed. We stayed in a huge apartment overlooking the vineyard, where everything we needed was provided. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hosts were fantastic, laying out a wonderful breakfast and for dinner introducing me to some... More
