Wonderful B&B. Ancient historic on the outside; thoroughly modernized on the inside. Superb, central location within the city walls. When you stay in Lucca, do NOT stay outside the "Walls." The innkeepers are charming and very cordial. Our teenage daughter had a bit of a medical issue and the innkeeper treated her like one of her own...even calling her own... More

In all honesty, I can say this BB was the best, amongst all the places we stayed, during our recent trip to Italy. The family that runs the establishment is extremely nice, caring and competent. They offer a personal touch that makes your stay even more special. The BB itself is in a palazzo, and I agree with the other... More

My wife and I spent one night in Lucca and had an amazing experience at La Romea. First of all, the owners were very responsive via email and helpful during our stay. As soon as we arrived, they checked us in quickly and showed us our room. After that, they told us all about the amazing little celebration that was... More

Beautiful B & B, everything you could hope a Tuscan B & B could be - beautiful ceilings, old wooden doors and furniture. The beds were really comfortable and the room large room. Lovely accommodating, friendly, helpful hosts - would definitely use again - Central location, delicious large breakfast. Quite a find - would definitely recommend. We stayed with kids... More

La Romea is located in the heart of the old city of Lucca, next to the main pedestrian street, however very quiet. It is on the first floor of nice palazzo. The rooms are large, with very high ceiling. All of this is made that much more pleasant thanks to the very pleasant hosts and the very nice breakfast you... More

In the heart of historical Lucca, within a medieval palace, run by great hosts Gaia and Giulio. Greatly located to see the town and close to a number of nice restaurants. Few rooms (we stayed as 2 adults + 2 kids in the very large and comfy blue suite), so booking in advance is advisable. This place is wonderful, we... More

This is a wonderful B&B in the heart of Lucca. The owners are kind, warm and enthusiastic. They are very proud of Lucca. The breakfast is wonderful and the suite we stayed in was spacious and beautiful. The owners were very helpful before we arrived and made great suggestions for our stay.

A wonderful and historic B&B that's perfectly located for tourists. We booked the suite, which was lovely and extremely spacious. My only complaint is that we didn't stay long enough to fully enjoy Lucca, our hotel and the hospitality of Giulio and Gaia. Absolutely stay here if you are able (they only have a few rooms).

I booked this very last minute, and I'm so lucky they had availability. Amazing hospitality, wonderful breakfast, and great central location. They offer a great discount if you book directly, pay in cash, and have the Rick Steves book (which is how I found this place). Dinner recommendation was spot on. Only down fall was the awful directions they sent... More

We felt very fortunate La Romea had availability when we stayed in Lucca. We stayed in the green room, which was really fabulous. We had a nice quiet stay, and the communal area (pictured) is really great - it almost has the feel of a hip coffee shop in the states, and self-serve coffee and tea are available. The entire...
