What a wonderful location...only fifteen minutes to Lucca. It was very basic , but it was quiet, and clean. They were very helpful. The breakfast was OK. It was perfect for one night, I would highly recommend this monastery. It is run by the Catholic church.

I was just sorry that we weren't able to spend more time here as the building is fascinating and the location is remote and serene. This hotel fit our picture of a perfect holiday in Tuscany. It is surrounded by a beautiful hillside, summer flowers, and quiet solitude. We sat in the courtyard in the evenings with a glass of wine. We stayed at this hotel for three nights while visiting Tuscany with our two small boys. It was the perfect getaway after a long busy day touring Florence and other Tuscan towns. Lots of atmosphere in this tranquil location in the tuscan hills near Lucca. The area is quiet and you can hear lots of birds if you leave the windows open at night. We booked this as in the photos it looked tranquil and serene set in the Tuscan hills. It is indeed both of those things and much more. Very charming place for relaxing holidays. Good service and friendly people, even the neighbours who told us the way to the hotel. We enjoyed our staying and found everything good. Not a lot of sport activities, but I guess down the street you can play archery (we didn't try but saw a farmer shooting with a crossbow). Peter
