We loved our stay at Al Porto Lucca. The courtyard was beautiful and quiet, an excellent place to relax with coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. We had many wonderful conversations with the owners. They were gracious, helpful and excellent hosts. We were 3 couples celebrating our 30th Anniversaries and the accommodations were loved... More

We had a great stay - the hotel is just outside the city walls so it's convenient to see everything but still quiet. Breakfast was brilliant, during which they gave us tips about what to do during our stay which all turned out to be great!

From our initial contact with Francesco, all communication was timely and efficient. We had last minute travel changes that allowed us to arrive in Lucca two days early. Francesco could only accommodate us the second night, but immediately made a call to locate a room for us right down the street. He even guided us to the exact location by... More

We stayed here with our two year old daughter for a few days in June. The house is lovely, with large comfortable rooms and a beautiful garden in the back. What really sets this apart though is the amazingly lovely hosts- you will feel like family and like you are in your home away from home. Giovanna and Francesco could... More

We booked this based on other Trip Advisors comments and we weren't disappointed! Great rooms, full of character. The hosts are welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We only had one night here but hopefully when we return to Lucca we will ba able to book a longer stay

We stayed for a week and were most impressed by the warm welcome from our hosts, the cleanliness of the spacious room and the enormous breakfasts. Not an impressive house from the street but inside it is much more attractive and has a nice garden where we took breakfast although you could eat inside as well. We enjoyed Giovanna's outgoing personality... More

Francisco and Giovanna run a class act here in this amazing town. You are close to everything and the neighborhood is away from the tourist traps and this makes it even more interesting. In 5 minutes you can be in the center of town, the train station, or at a local restaurant or two. The breakfast is wonderful the dinning... More

I agree with previous reviewers that the B and B does not have street appeal, but it has a classy interior, with historic furnishings and decor, including fascinating old family photos and memorabilia that the hosts will happily tell you about if you express an interest. There is respect for the past, but also all the comforts modern travellers hope... More

Although unimpressive from the street, once you step inside, you feel a sense of the scale of the building. Loved the high ceilings and private deck with a view of the garden. The bed was hard but we slept well anyway. Some traffic noise but not a problem.. The breakfast was the best we've had this trip. Fresh juice and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Al Porto di Lucca is a recently renovated large house with a garden, which can be dated to back to 1700. It is owned by a family from Lucca, whose origins date back to 1500. It is a bed and breakfast with 4 guest rooms, each with a private bathroom, located less than 300 meters from the walls and the historic center of Lucca, which then can be reached on foot or by bike via an underpass. The railway station is just 200 meters away, and by train there is easy access to Pisa with its international airport, and to the city of Florence. In addition to the gardens, the great hall and the veranda are at guests' disposal for breakfast. ... more   less
