This was one of the most spectacular hotel experiences we have ever had. The room -- rooms really -- was spacious and beautiful with amazing views of the valley. We were actually given a choice so we saw another room which was also beautiful but with less gorgeous views (we would have been very happy to stay there too). The... More

My husband David and I are luxury travel planners with a true passion for extraordinary hotels that offer the ultimate vacation experience and I can say the Albergo Villa Casanova is one of the most delightful five-star hotels we have visited. We stayed at Albergo Villa Casanova in May 2014 for a weekend and would thoroughly recommend it. The staff are extremely hospitable and the food was delicious. It is easilyvreached from Pisa but is quiet and serene. The views from the hotel are amazing and the facilities wonderful. Probably the best bed we have ever slept in!!

Everything about this property is wonderful! From the terrace, we were able to see the towers of Lucca in the distance. The countryside was just beautiful! We went into the kitchen with the chef to learn the secrets of making perfect risotto. The pool is the perfect place to relax, and our room was beautifully decorated and very spacious. We... More

We stayed for 3 nights in late July 2013. The property is quite lovely. Our room was extremely large, light, airy and well-appointed. The bathroom was huge ! The look is simple rather than dressy. That's the beauty of the place - not stuffy at all - a very relaxed and casual tone. You feel pampered, but not in an... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Albergo Villa Casanova is the result of a complete renovation of an 18th-century Tuscan farmhouse set in 360 acres of mixed woodland just ten minutes from Lucca. Newly reopened in December 2009, Albergo Villa Casanova is now a distinctive and relaxed, luxury boutique hotel with 14 incredibly spacious suites, restaurant, magnificent terraces, infinity swimming pool and tennis court. The valley of Lucca and the tower of Castello Nozzano can be viewed from the hotel and the area is ideal for walking, cycling and exploring the historical walled town of Lucca, home to Puccini. It's also a perfect location to just relax with a book and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Numerous festivals take place throughout the year. The world famous Puccini Festival takes place at the open-air theatre at Torre del Lago, a few Kilometres from the hotel. Albergo Villa Casanova has its own chapel (see section on Weddings) and several adjoining country houses, one of which dates back to the 15th century. The original owners were the Balbani family who later gave their name to the locality. ... more   less
