This is a family hotel and gives you the real experience of Italy. The rooms are very clean and nice and beds are very comfortable. It is several floors and even has an elevator. The hotel is about 8 blocks from the train station - maybe too far to walk with baggage, but definitely walkable without luggage. We liked this... More

Dad, Mom, and son were extremely helpful and friendly hosts. They gave us advice about attending a soccer match that probably saved us hours of time and frustration. They helped my wife and son plan a hiking trip to Cinque Terre that also saved lots of time and frustration on a busy weekend. Finally we enjoyed staying there so much... More

We were at the hotel Melecchi on the 30th December and were immediately impressed by the warm welcome, the friendliness and the flexibility showed by Giovanni and the rest of the hotel staff. Although we arrived in the late morning, we were offered a very appreciated "sweet snack", including cornetti, cappuccini and hot chocolate, which immediately put us in a... More

Room, location, and friendliness were all good. But none of that can overcome the very strong smell of raw sewage/feces that pervaded the bathroom (I think coming from the toilet). Ruined the stayed. I should note that we didn't bring this up with the staff as we were only staying there for one night. So we didn't bring it up.... More

Dear Guests, We thank you for yours review, as it helps us to improve and be the best we can. We are very disappointed that your staying at our hotel was not so perfect, moreover, knowing that the problem could have been resolved, if you had only told us. Please, do not hesitate to inform us, if there is something... More

The family that run the Hotel Melecchi seem like old friends. We've stay here 3 or 4 times in the last few years.Always helpful with a very friendly welcome, Giovanni the manager is brilliant. A quiet spot this, just a very short walk outside the city walls. Clean rooms with good en suite shower. Always a comfortable sleep.

A great little hotel. The staff is the family that owns it and they are very friendly and helpful on sights to see around Lucca. The room was clean, had room to move around. The bathroom was a fair size and the water was always hot when we needed it's to be. There is an elevator in case you have... More

We stayed here on the recommendation of friends and found it to be exactly how we imagined a typical Italian B&B would be. The rooms are simple but served their purpose. There are 2 outside areas to have a drink or just read your book. It's a very short walk into Lucca which is well worth a couple of days... More

This is a lovely little hotel situated 10 mins walk outside the city walls, with clean, comfortable rooms and staff - all family, I suspect - who go out of their way to be helpful. There is plenty of parking if you arrive by car and it's convenient located for those driving from Pisa airport.

We really enjoyed this hotel. Close to the city center, a large parking place and lovely staff. The owner and his son made us feel more welcome than in any other place we've been in Italy. Hospitality is in their blood!

My wife and I were on a cycling vacation in Tuscany. In Lucca, we stayed at the Hotel Melecchi. We stayed one (1) night and we really liked it. The staff (family all) were all very attentive and friendly. The room was clean and quaint. Breakfast in the morning was like eating in the family dining room (because we think... More
