Impressive building in prime position let down on a number of fronts which as a "luxury" hotel are unacceptable. Was on business and needed an iron in my room. Was told this wasn't possible due to health and safety! very intransigent staff. Unresponsive management. Breakfast was boring and lacked variety. No coffee/tea making facilities in room. Bedroom walls thin and... More

We stayed at the hotel just one night, but I truly enjoyed it. It is a beautiful building with a lot of charm. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated. Beds were very comfortable and a bathroom just great. In general, I had only positive impression and everything worked well for our short stay.

Quick overview: - the odour in the foyer was absolutely appaulling, perhaps they were having plumbing problems? - our room did not have functioning AC, the front desk told us it was 'impossible' to turn on, even though it was close to 30C in the room. - slept with the windows open which would have been fine, except the noise... When they named this hotel the Grand Palazzo, they really meant that! From the minute we walked into the room, we were stunned by the immaculate presentation and ridiculously high ceilings! Although the semi-infinity pool is not intended for extended swims, it was great to soak in the pool after hours of sightseeing. They say there isn't much in Livorno,... More

Beautifully and tastefully restored C19th building. Unfortunately management is very imperfect! The hotel is kept very clean but when I stayed (7-9 May 2014) the entire heating/cooling/aircon system was switched off, so the room temperature and humidity could not be controlled. Worse, the shower in my bathroom (which itself was poorly lit and lacked well-placed towel hooks and toilet paper... More

A fantastic location, an old palace restored to a very good level. Everything is new and functioning. Great view, easy parking. The staff is very polite, although at certain times a little less than one would expect. Not being on the port is a privilege .

The 2nd bad experience in the past 5 months with the NH Hotels chain. Having booked the hotel for 1 night as it was my partner's birthday surprise who is from Livorno originally. Upon booking with Opodo I clearly stated it was a birthday surprise, received no birthday greeting upon check in which you would of thought was a basic... More

Myself and a friend stayed at the Grand Palazzo for two nights in May. The hotel is of a good standard. Not 5 star in my opinion but clean and tidy. The check in staff were helpful on our arrival and although we were disappointed with Livorno itself, things seemed set for a relaxing couple of nights. We had a... More

Stayed there with the family in april, very welcoming staff and great rooms with aview of the sea. The restaurant is not really a place for kids and the swimming pool was closed for renovation, besides from that everything was in good order and the location is just perfect.

My mother and me spent 3 nights in Easter time. The hotel is amazing, there are no words to describe : the room, the hall, the reception, the breakfast area,..The hotel is just opposite the sea. Breakfast really really good. Also 5 stars to the staff: helpful and friendy all the time. NH hotels never disappoint us, that is why... More
