My husband found this delightful B & B by doing some research. It's in a peaceful location along the river Arno. Parking is limited but is enough however once we'd arrived we didn’t need the car. Just up the road you can catch the bus to Florence. They run very frequently. Claudio who runs the B & B is a... More

The accommodation was not super clean but the owner was so charming and made us feel so welcome. Definitely worth the stay if you want to visit Florence and stay in a relaxing atmosphere. Thank you for the great experience.

One of the most unusual B&Bs we have come across. The mill, around which the house is built, dates from the 13th century and is attractively furnished in an old style. A very comfortable bed, in which you will be lulled to sleep by the Arno rushing over the weir. An ample breakfast is served from 8:30. The polyglot landlord... More

A gracious host - unique and lovely building - I mean, it's like a castle with good heating/cooling and up-to-date amenities. We stayed in the Salcio double this year and the tower or turret room last April. Both were beautifully decorated and had extraordinary bathrooms. The Duomo is less than 30 minutes away by bus during rush hour. Why would... More

Claudio welcomed me late in the night when I arrived introduced by a friend and he managed for me one of the best rooms I have ever slept. The place itself is gorgeous, outstanding in one of the most outstanding areas in the world. Then the fairy gate opened and I was led to the '200 tower atop of a... More

My Wife and I stayed at La Martellina for a couple nights in the middle of a two month long trip throughout Europe. After flying in and out of major cities, La Martellina was a breath of fresh air. Located just outside Florence along the Fiume Arno, one can easily ride bikes along the river into the city (which is... More

Claudio's home is beautiful, right on the river and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but a quick and convenient bus ride to Florence. My favorite part was the amazing breakfast every morning- eggs, pastries, cheese, charcuterie. I would love to return one day!

We enjoyed ten days here in October. Claudio was a generous host and was quick to help us with bus schedules for our jaunts out to the environs. Just a 20 minute bus ride into the centre of the city. We stayed in the tower room and in the ensuite room in the main building....both very comfortable. Breakfast was always... More

We had a wonderful time. The place is beautiful in a beautiful garden,, easy to go to Florence by bus. Nice host and a luxurious breakfast. Hope to go back there. Not more than half an hour from the centre of Florence and we would love to see more of the lovely area.M. Bot
