Claudio welcomed me late in the night when I arrived introduced by a friend and he managed for me one of the best rooms I have ever slept. The place itself is gorgeous, outstanding in one of the most outstanding areas in the world. Then the fairy gate opened and I was led to the '200 tower atop of a... More

My Wife and I stayed at La Martellina for a couple nights in the middle of a two month long trip throughout Europe. After flying in and out of major cities, La Martellina was a breath of fresh air. Located just outside Florence along the Fiume Arno, one can easily ride bikes along the river into the city (which is... More

Claudio's home is beautiful, right on the river and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but a quick and convenient bus ride to Florence. My favorite part was the amazing breakfast every morning- eggs, pastries, cheese, charcuterie. I would love to return one day!

We went there for just one day, but could have stayed much longer! Amazing garden by the river (with a little pool for the children) - pity the mosquitoes love it too :-), beautiful rooms, charming host and dog! SDG

We enjoyed ten days here in October. Claudio was a generous host and was quick to help us with bus schedules for our jaunts out to the environs. Just a 20 minute bus ride into the centre of the city. We stayed in the tower room and in the ensuite room in the main building....both very comfortable. Breakfast was always... More

We had a wonderful time. The place is beautiful in a beautiful garden,, easy to go to Florence by bus. Nice host and a luxurious breakfast. Hope to go back there. Not more than half an hour from the centre of Florence and we would love to see more of the lovely area.M. Bot

We were in a honey moon and we wanted a place just like in the movies about Toscana and it was an amazing experience, we loved the place, the hostes, the dog, our room, our breakfast. We will go back there one day for sure and we recommend this place to everyone. Have all a great experience just like us!!!

This was a perfect place to stay near Florence. Claudio was a perfect host - he actually helped me with my Italian as I had to prepare to deliver sermons in Florence! This was in addition to making sure I had gluten-free breakfasts and brewed decaf coffee. We stayed for over two weeks and took the bus regularly into town... More

We spent three nights with Claudio at his home/Inn, and were more than satisfied by our accommodation. We slept in a room that was built 300 years BEFORE Columbus sailed to America, just to give a touch of perspective to the location. Claudio's companion, the St. Bernard mix Emilio was equally charming. Breakfast was varied and interesting, with a multitude... More

This was one of the best places we stayed in a month in Italy, although not in Fiesole per se. Claudio was the perfect host assisted by his dog Emilio. The room we had was sort of a turret up a spiral staircase overlooking the river with a separate, well-appointed, airy and quaint bathroom. Claudio only created the B &... More
