We were bumped from another Florence Hotel ( seems a common scam ) and sent to this Hotel kind of late evening. After a pleasurable drive reached an ancient place right from two centuries away. Quaint, old and funny was the first comments. But we buttoned up and stayed the night. The owners were kind to give my wife a... More

We were a family of sixteen (ranging in age from 9 to 79) and the hotel was very accommodating. One reason we chose it was that the public bus to Florence stopped just outside our door. However, we were not warned about the danger of being served with a costly fine if the ticket is not purchased ahead of time.... More

I had stayed in this place many years ago. let me put this gently, it hasn't aged well. We were greeted by a man who was poorly dressed. The lobby was shabby, was was the rest of the place. When I was shown the room, my instant reaction was I'd seen cells for silent monks that were more welcoming. The... More

This property is not perfect but it is truly lovely. As a New Yorker, I enjoyed the strong beauty of the old and did not expect it to be a W or Hilton. Some rooms have been renovated a bit. The reason you are in this hotel is to enjoy the situation. You can feel Italian, living above a gorgeous... More

We did not stay at the hotel as we only did a day trip from Florence to Fiesole. After getting off the bus, we walked directly into the garden patio of Aurora hotel and were given the best possible table overlooking Florence. We spent 3 hours there unable to tear ourselves away from the atmosphere, view, service, prosecco, and THE... More

I am familiar with fiesole but had never stayed in a hotel there. I had read the reviews and depsite the comments of "seen better days" I was drawn to a place with a history and a beautiful view. We arrived in the early evening and we weren't disappointed. We had a lovely view on florence from our spacious room... More

Beautiful property that has seen better days. Good location but not well cared for. Water damage everywhere, threadbare carpets. Mattress needs replacement. Front desk clerk helpful but so brisk that comes off as almost rude.

From the exterior, it seems that the building is crumbling. Queen Victoria stayed here and although the bathroom in our room had been renovated, one felt that there was an understandable reluctance to alter the delicate hand-painted decorations in the room. (We had room 31 - with a four poster bed, balcony and the most memorable views over Florence and... More

After travelling 15 hours from the US. We are greeted by an older woman with dark brown hair at the front desk(forgot her name). She quietly checks us in the hotel without asking us if there is anything that we need and points to the stairs to tell us our room is on the 2nd floor as her English is... More

Hotel in center of Fiesole. Faded glory - nice, charming (must have been fantastic 100 years ago)but worne out and in general up for renovation, although the bathrooms in our rooms had been renovated. Noisy arico. Basic breakfast. Uninspiring, awkwardly located swimming pool with 5 (!) loungers but no towels for swimming. Free parking.
