Breathtaking views, a warm friendly family hospitality and a real taste of Tuscany: you will pinch yourself strolling into this amazing old mansion. A good way up the hill towards Fiesole, it's a quick ride in the local #7 bus up and down to Florence. The views over the olive grove and beyond to Florence are just beautiful; and there... More

Bencista is run by the most friendly family and staff. They do everything in their power to make this the best experience you can imagine. The place is huge, but still warm, cozy - one feel at home. We enjoyed Italian food, vineyards and a dinner celebration party . The family opened their private dining room and made a big... More

The Pensione Bencista is a wonderful old mansion that has a very interesting history. It has been a bed and breakfast since 1925 and is still run by the same family. Beatrice is a wonderful host of this magnificent place. A nice relaxing treat after a full day in Florence. We always do half board, which includes breakfast and dinner.... More

This place has a view to die for. Get away from the crowds in Firenze and stay here. Firenze is only 20 minutes away by tram (or filobus years ago). It is a 5 minute walk to #7 bus which takes you to P. San Marco where you can walk to the Duomo easily within 7 minutes. The rooms are... More

I’m sorry to hear you weren’t wholly satisfied with your stay at Bencistà. As for the mosquitos, we do try our very best to keep the problem under control. We provide plug-in anti-mosquito devicesin each room , insect repellent and we do an annual chemical treatment throughout the whole building. I’m afraid that beyond this, there is not much else... Bencista has stunning views of Florence and a 180 degree view of the hills surrounding the city from three lovely terraces. Pietra, the cook, makes wonderful, simple but elegant meals; the staff is charming and helpful on just about any issue you may raise. Most important of all,you will probably never get so close to the magical experience of Florence... More

We had a lovely time at the Pensione Bencista. We drove in and passed it the first time, as we were coming from a different direction, but there were several large signs pointing to the driveway when we turned around. The hotel parking is plentiful and secure at night. We were checked in and shown to our room, then asked... More

This is my perfect sanctuary. The exceptional view over the city of Florence are priceless. It's an old convent turned pensione run by the same family for decades. They are all there, grandmother to baby...it really is a super charming, relaxing and comfortable retreat and well worth getting out of Florence for. The rooms are very simple and basic. The... More

An old villa, run as a pensione since 1925. Family-run lovely old villa in which you immediately feel at home. The rooms are simple but comfortable. The meals are family cuisine, moderately priced. An ideal place to stay, on demi-pension terms. Spectacular views over Florence. A real find. I spoke to other guests, many come back year after year. Definitely... More

We stayed 2 nights in Sept 13. We did 5 cities on our trip and this was by far our favorite place during our trip. We chose to stay out side of Florence to save money and this was better than any hotel we could have found in Florence(for much more money). The hotel is family run and they are... More
