Had a wonderful stay here, worth it for the view of Florence spread out below alone. Quirky rooms and living areas, an authentic old Italian villa shared with the public by the family. The climb to the bus stop is steep, so take it slowly and walk of some of that God food

My parents first came to the Bencista forty years ago. It is still the same family running the hotel and it is just as magical and welcoming as it was then. The view from the terrace is spectacular and be sure to dine in the restaurant.

My wife and I thought that our visit to Florence should start with a time of rest in Fiesole to overcome jet lag from flying in from California. After reading reviews of the Pensione Bencista we decided to give it a try. It was even better than we had hoped. The room was spacious and clean, the terraces were very... More

I didn't expect to start with the magnificent view from the BATHROOM, but the view from our City-view room was breathtaking - the entire city of Florence seen above an arbor thick with purple wisteria. No TV in the room to break the view OR the mood. The bedroom furnishings are period but well-maintained (with a huge, king bed, easy... More

This is a wonderful hotel or "pensione", cosy family style, with fantastic service, tv free rooms, an amazing location, simply an ideal place to a Spend a few days peacefully. A lot of people here attend EUI conference so you are likely to bump into academics. To go to Firenze, you take bus 7, which departs every 15 minutes. To... More

This is quite simply the most delightful place to stay. If you want air conditioning, room service, deluxe bathrooms and bellboys in lavish uniforms - stop reading now. If you want quiet, cool, impeccably clean rooms smelling of beeswax and dried flowers, with the kind of polished furniture topped with marble your grandmother might have had if your grandmother were... we thank you very much for your kind words and thoughts. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in our house. Every winter we are closed for maintainance but now we are nearly ready to open again. The garden is full of flowers and we feel very lucky to have this nice spring I am looking forward... More

We stayed at Pensione Bensista twice during our recent swing through Tuscany. They had been recommended by separate groups of our friends, one of whom had been coming back here each year for 40 years. The inn, with perhaps 20 rooms, sits on a large beautiful property on the steep slopes of Fiesole, and staying there is like stepping back... More

Beautiful views of Florence. Welcoming and helpful staff. Good food and wine. Bus (#7) to Florence is a 7 minute vigorous walk away and takes about 20 mins to get to Florence (1.5 euro).. Free parking, although the roads to the hotel and autostrada are narrow and twisty. The owners and staff are terrrific to talk to and get information.... More

We arrived at Bencista just as a thunder storm was kicking off. The views over Florence were amazing. As this is a small country house hotel we were a little worried about going down to dinner. We both expected to find Poirot sat in the dining room and a blood-curdling scream to interrupt the soup course. However, all was well.... More
