We enjoyed 4 nights at this boutique hotel. The hotel only had 4 rooms. We were in the Air room (#2), which was as it appeared on their website-- very charming and quiet. The beautiful chandelier and indirect lighting option provided for varying moods. The bath was spacious, and the bath robes were a nice touch. We received a welcoming reception... More

Excellent location, great staff, definitely a good choice in Florence! The only downside is the stairs (the lift is not exactly practical), but even with 2 giant pieces of luggage it was worth it! Conveniently close to the train station and very clean.

The best thing about this place is its location: It is 5 minute walking to the Duomo! It's also good value for money, big rooms and nice staff. It was very clean and they give complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits. (Super bien ubicado y buen precio/calidad)

We stayed at the Earth room for two nights. Location is perfect: very close to the train station (around 5 min. by foot), most of the sightseeings are also within the walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable. Maria, the hostess, is very friendly and helpful, always ready to provide you with any and all info about the beautiful... More

Fantastic location in the heart of central Florence on a beautiful street within walking distance of a vast array of attractions. Maria our host was welcoming and very helpful. Our quiet room was very well appointed with a lovely comfortable bed, antique furniture and a small ensuite with quality fittings. There is a peaceful terrace for communal use which we... More

Location is so near the Firenze train station. They upgraded us the apartment which is so huge and would comfortably sleep 6 people. However, no easily accessible elevator. There's 4 flights of stairs needed to reach the b&b. Apartment was not too clean. We needed to go upstairs to reach the bedroom. Bathroom flooded after taking a shower. Wifi is... More

We booked the earth room but somehow ended up in a massive apartment with two living areas, a bedroom and two bathrooms! It was amazing - we felt as though we had struck gold! The location is very central (5 minute walk from the cathedral and station) and yet it was quiet in the evening and the bed was comfortable.... More

Great area, walking distance to all major sites. Room was nice, but smelled a little funny initially, this resolved with some AC and circulation. The major issue was our interactions with the owner/manager, Maria. We booked the hotel for its reviews and also its location, near where 4 of our friends were staying. They considered booking here and wanted to... More

Dear Jenn I am very sorry for the disappointment you have pointed out about my work but I can assure you that no one has ever complained of my behavior. It is not the first time that customers bring friends to see the room but it is polite to ask if it is possible, even in the best hotels is... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
