Close to train station. Lorenzo took such good care of us, gave us lots of good information. The hotel is also very close to the Duomo and major museums. The room was cozy and had a nice shower. Great place when on a budget!

A great little place very close to the train station and most everything we wanted to see in Florence. Our room was lovely, clean, and spacious compared to other hotels, and far enough from the street it was fairly quiet. Lorenzo was a great host and nice to chat with. We'd happily stay here again if we visit Florence in... More

If you're on a budget and would like to be right in the middle of the city to see all the sights, restaurants, markets and within walking distance to the train station - Firenze S.M.N. This is the best place to stay! Wifi is ALWAYS a seller for me! I found this place appropriate for what I wanted! A safe... More

Lorenzo and Anna, the owners of Casa Billi, genuinely care about providing a pleasant and comfortable place to stay. As a first time traveler to Europe -- alone, mind you -- I felt like I had instant friends in Florence. The room was exactly what I needed. Comfortable bed, plenty of space, A/C. Shared bathrooms are never ideal, but it's... More

I stayed here May 2014. This is not a hotel but a guest house so there is no large signage. I had a little trouble finding it initially but once I did, I couldn't figure out why it was so hard because it's only about a 2 or 3 minute walk from the train station. Once you arrive, you have... More

Located on a car-free street midway between the train station and the Duomo (5-7 min walk to each), Casa Billi is quite convenient. It is hard to classify it as a hotel, because the friendly owner/staff is only on site as needed for guest check-in. Our room (#1) was clean, spacious and quite functional. WiFi worked and room was cleaned... More

Italian hotels on a budget are always a challenge, but we were immediately impressed by the friendly couple who own this establishment! They were do welcoming, helpful and friendly. We got a great orientation to the hotel, as well as helpful tips for the city. The rooms are small and a little noisy. The shared bathroom was very small.

A 5 minute walk from the train station, so a good location. The owner was very nice and helpful. Good value for money. Bathroom was shared with other guests but had no problem with that. Only problem we had was taking the suitcases up the stairs (there is an elevator, but not for guest usage). Would recommend.

Booked Casa Billi as a result of having stayed at the Beehive in Rome and using the cross-pollinate resource. The location is good. The desk is not staffed 24 hours. Shared bathroom was ok. Could not access wifi for some reason.

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
