Good location of the hotel, everything is neat and clean. Proximity to major attractions and museums, and a good price. Breakfast is modest but good -espreso is excellent. All in all a good starting point for sightseeing and attractions.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever been to. We got robbed by the staff and they refused to call the police or the hotel owner when I asked them to. The receptionist didn't even want to tell me her name. She was extremely rude and told me to find the police by myself and deal with... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights at the beginning of July. Good hotel for short break for those who want good value for money and nothing fancy. Looking at other reviews I would suggest that you choose your room carefully. We had Room 16 (classic double) - situated behind reception desk, but it was quiet (at rear of... More

I had a room booked at this hotel and 2 days in advance they told me, that there was a damage in my room and I could not stay there. They had a replacement room for me in a different hotel. Turns out, the other hotel was one with a horrible rating (42% satisfied customers). I tried to complain to... More

This was the worse hotel we experienced in our entire trip to Italy. Not only are the staff unpleasant but the entire apartment and bathroom contained mold. I have photos I will post if this site allows them. I got really sick. We stayed there only 2 nights but as soon as we went to our next destination, I felt... More

This hotel is ideally situated in the centre of Firenze (Florence) and it is less than 2 minutes away (walking) from duomo and one minute away from the famous real "David" sculpture (Galleria dell'Accademia). My cousin and I stayed there 3 days and 2 nights, and I was very surprise how good of deal it is. You have to remember... More

This hotel gets points for its location - only a five minute walk to the Duomo. However, everything else (the rooms, service, and breakfast) was quite average. The hotel is on the third floor of an old building, serviced by quite possibly the smallest elevator I have ever been in. The staff speak very little English, just enough to get... More

We went to Florence to enjoy this city so we didn't stay too much in hotel. Very good location lets you to reach all places you can want there. Duomo is just 5 mins walking from there. Friendly staff, good breakfast (nothing extra but enough) Rooms are clean and in good condition. MAYbe if we stayed longer we could complain... More

The hotel is located 5-10 minutes walk from Duomo and 10-15 minutes walk from SMN. It is in a building with a lift so no heavy lifting needed. The room is decent but definitely on the small side. If you stay in the economy double room, you cannot open 2 suitcases at the same time, in fact opening one is... More

This hotel is OK, clean though it needs maintenance, specially in the bathroom. Breakfast is good, though the second coffee has an extra charge. The walls are too thin, so you can hear everything from your "neighbours". But location is great, and when in Florence you do not stay all the time in the hotel, you just have a bath... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
