We are from New Zealand and booked our accommodation online. We found that this hotel has an elegant and refined atmosphere. We stayed 2 nights in a junior double room (paying Euro 207.00 for the 2 nights). For the price we paid, the hotel met all our expectations. The room had a window overlooking the street which made the room... more
I went to Florence with my boyfriend for 2 nights, and I thought this hotel would be a good idea. We had booked one junior double for the first night, and a classic double for the second. However, in the second night, after having made us leave the room we already had, they simply told us that THERE WERE NO... more
We would like to explain what has happen with these guests. They made their reservation at the end of April, but only at the end of May they realized that they have made a mistake. In fact, they booked for 18th of May instead of 18th of June. Unfortunately, for the period of their real stay (check in 18/06/2009 check...
Though the room is rather tiny, it's clean and the stay is enjoyable. Really friendly and helpful service throughout our stay. more
Just got back from our honeymoon in Italy and the Florence leg of it was based out of Hotel La Venere. I can't say enough about the location of the hotel - it seems to be an easy walk from pretty much anything. The Duomo, The Accadamia, The San Lorenzo church and market - all within 5 minutes. Train station... more
First of all, we would like to thank the guests for the review they've done about our hotel. We would like to specify that in our rooms there are only 20" lcd flat screen tv and we regret that they wrote that it isn't so. We regret also that they didn't tell to our staff their problem with the remote...
My husband and I rented out the Il David Tourist house in La Venere for two nights. It was a great value, and the room was clean and comfortable. And quiet! We could hear the bells of the cathedral, but not much else. The bathroom was a bit tight for my tall husband-- it is a funky step down to... more
This hotel is on third floor with a tiny evelvator as previous reviewrs have noted. We had a triple room the third bed providing room for a our luggage, it was fine. In this hotel you pay for location, 2 blocks from the Duomo and only blocks from almost everything else. The staff was friendly and helpful made good recommendations... more
This place wasn't overly cheap, but it was good. We stayed in one of the apartments attached to the hotel (upstairs) and it was lovely. Very clean, very well furnished, well supplied and plenty of space. There was a little bit of traffic noise from the busy street below, but nothing that bothered us. I wouldnt hesitate in recommending this... more
We had a great stay at La Venere. The rooms were pretty tiny, but very clean. We stayed at 4 hotels during our stay, and this room was the smallest (though I'm sure still within reason for European standards). Decor was ok, a bit outdated, but it wasn't a huge deal since we didn't spend much time in the room.... more
It's easy to miss the Hotel La Venere as there was no distinctive signage advertising its presence in the building. But a hidden gem it is indeed! My mum, sister and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Tourist House Il Magnifico, which boasts a sizable bedroom and bathroom, with an adjoining kichenette. The Florentine-style rooms were immaculate and beds... more
