Friendly, very clean and organized, close to the train station, walking distance from the old city. Everything you need. Restaurant close by, small market. Got all the necessary tips to go around the city. I was satisfied!

Stayed here for 2 nights. It was a 7-10 minute walk from the train station. The room was big but furniture seemed old. Overall, it was a decent place for the money we paid ! Breakfast was good. The bathroom was clean and they changed our sheets and towels regularly. Surrounding area was quite safe and there are quite a... More

Stayed here for three nights while in Florence. The location is good, about 5-10 mins from Santa Maria train station and 15-20 mins from the centre of Florence ( Duomo). Inside it is very old fashioned and basic, you will have to take a lift to the third floor which is where the reception is. The lift is a bit... More

My husband and I had an unpleasant stay in the room, mainly because there was a lot of mosquitoes in the room. Difficult to clear as well as they usually stay on the ceiling. Got bitten as well. Although the room is spacious and we don't have issue with the small tv, however the tv is installed way too high... More

It was a normal place, 20 minutes from the center by feet. It has a good price. We didn't have problems. Though they inform previously that the breakfast is outside the b&b, in another street, I didnt like too much this breakfast, we had no options.

Thre B&B is pretty nice.. My wife and I got a room on the 1st floor.. Its around 1.2 kms from the main Florence Santa Maria Novell railways station.. pretty much walkable from all the major attractions of the Florence Historic Center.. They have an arrangement to provide breakfast with a nearby cafe .. Times Caffe.. do not expect a... More

The B&B is located in the 3rd floor of a flat (no stress, there is a lift). The building is very close to the main station, so it's really convenient. The lady in the reception does not speak English or French, but we could communicate (even if I do not speak Italian). The room was clean, has a correct size... More

Very informative at reception on arrival. Room was clean and cleaned each day we were there. Handy to bus station train station and the main tourist area just a short walk away. Breakfast was at a local cafe very basic but quick and coffee is good, there menu and food is quite reasonable. Wifi was ok.

It's a basic hotel. About 20 min from the main train station. When you get out the main train station exit, you will need to walk around the back of the station. Go straight until you cittadella street turn left. The building will be on your right. You will have to ring the bell. As the hotel is shared with... More

The b&b is about a 10/15 minute walk to the main tourist bits of Florence such as the duomo, it's literally just a straight line to the train station so really easy to find. The owner, Teresa, did not speak much English but she was very lovely and kind. We had room number 2 on the second floor and it... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
