Positioned right between the main train terminal and the duomo, this made the location excellent when arriving into Florence and for basing yourself to explore the citt. This is not a B&B or a hotel, so don't expect breakfast or facilities to make it. But, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were large and clean and the... More

It is located very close to Duomo and close to train station as well. You can reach most places by walking (within 10 mins) The room is very clean and tidy. The owners were very friendly and even though it is situated on the busy street, it was amazingly quiet at night.

I stayed here for 4 nights in June and it was excellent. The location was perfect, being only 30 yards from the Duomo and most of the sights within easy walking distance. The room was very spacious and even had a kitchenette with fridge, hob and microwave. The owners were very freindly and helpful and all in all great value... More

Lovely room, amazing location. Safe, clean and tidy, plus cheap water bottles for sale. The door was locked when I arrived (the fault of another guest not management) but repeated calls to management got me nowhere. After an hour guests with a key arrived and let me in. Would still HIGHLY recommend this place for a short stay.

Location is excellent, beside Dome and 5-8 min walk to Ponte Vecchio. Can be called budget friendly hotel. The staff were very friendly; we couldn't find hotel by car so they came and took us to the hotel. All rooms aren't same, our room is on the of air well, so dark and stuffy. Also room is small, nothing to... More

This small hotel is steps from the Duomo and everything else that you want to see is within easy walking distance. It is also an easy walk from the train station. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean. The bathroom was very nice and clean also. A great place to stay. I would stay there again.

We recently stayed 3 nights at Tourist House Battistero and would recommend this to anyone visiting Florence. The location was very central - 10 minute walk from the main train station and even less to the markets for food and shopping. On check in we were told you can cover the main attractions of Florence within a 20 minute walk... More

The location is perfect. The owner, Gabriella, contacted me right away after I made the reservation. She responded to my emails within a day or so whenever I made an inquiry. Upon learning that I would arrive after 6pm, she sent me the passcode to the main entrance and gave me all the check-in information. The room is spacious and... More

two blocks from the duomo, a 10 minute walk to the train station, cafes nearby and easy to find. it's definately a do-everything-yourself-place, but comfy. small bathroom but can't beat the price & location. tea maker in the room.

We stayed here, three rooms, June 13-16. This place is a real bargain. Big, clean rooms - not fancy but perfectly adequate - comfortable beds, OK bathrooms (the showers are a bit tight), and an absolutely unbeatable location - half a block from the Piazza del Duomo and a ten minute walk from the train station. The windows are all... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
