The staff was very friendly. My boyfriend was sick and had to go to the hospital. Laura and Stefano were really helpful in adjusting our reservation, telling me which hospital to go to, and genuinely caring about his well-being. We left the hotel to head to Chianti and because it was off season, there was not much to do so... More

Had a wonderful three night stay. Excellent breakfast and coffee, tea, cakes available mid afternoon. I was in part of a group and we all enjoyed the stay. The room was spacious, very clean and the best thing was that I didn't hear anything. Very close to the town, but far away so as to be quiet. Relaxing to have... More

We booked Hotel Silla as part of a package deal with British Airways; we looked at the hotels offered through BA's package offer, and decided to try Silla. We were glad we did, and I am glad to say I would certainly stay there again. The location really is rather brilliant. It's on the "other" side of the Arno, but... More

We have stayed at Hotel Silla four times in four years. We usually stay here in the late fall and request in a room in the the front of the building. There is a park across the street and when the trees drop their leaves you get a lovely view of the Duomo. Otherwise, the trees in full bloom will... More

This hotel was perfect for what we wanted. Short walk into town, short walk to supermarket and the famous Ponte Vechhio. And 10 mins to everything else. Lovely staff and nothing was too much trouble. This room was very large and very well appointed. Everything was clean, clean, clean. Great location for walking to any location in historic Florence. Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighborhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
