Silla Hotel is located on the other side of the Arno River from the heart of Florence, but is still within walking distance to the major sights: el Duomo, Palazzo Pitti, and the Ponte Vecchio. The staff is very accommodating and nice. The room we stayed in was very hot overnight, and leaving the window open let in mosquitos. When... More

We have visited Florence in the past and have stayed at a hotel near the airport, which required a shuttle ride to reach the city. This time we decided to stay closer to the main attractions of Florence, and needed parking for our rental vehicle. The Hotel Silla provided all of this and was a great find, which provided a... Stayed Oct. 6-10. All good comments in earlier reviews are true, wonderful staff, nice breakfast with many choices, clean and quiet location. We wanted to avoid the hectic heart of tourist Florence. Because of walking limitations, even with this great location, we took taxis to the center of the city. These arrived quickly and were reasonably priced. We reserved a... More

We came across this hotel after a lot of research online, and found this to be superb value for money. Great location, walking distance to attractions like Uffizi, Ponte Vechhio and good restaurants. Just couple of feet away from best gelato in Florence. Hotel is quiet, peaceful and the staff is superb. The cheerful manager, Mr. Massimo was very friendly... More

My wife and I wanted to return to this hotel for nostalgic reasons, having retained pleasant memories from our visit very long ago to its previous incarnation as Pensione Silla. We came this time with two sets of kids and grandchildren, booking 3 rooms for 10 people. We were not disappointed. The staff could not have been friendlier or more... More

It is a beautiful old hotel, has very wide passages decorated with antique and Renaissance furniture, tables, chairs, sideboards etc. and many original period paintings - all very welcoming. Our large room overlooked the front patio towards the river and city centre and was very comfortable. Have stayed at a lot of hotels, and this is one of the most... More

The rooms were decent. The breakfast was good. The patio was great, drinks, breakfast, etc. The location was so so. It was a little bit of walk to get to the attractions in Florence (10-20 minutes depending on where you want to go). There were mosquitos when we were there, plus being October, they are not allowed to let you... More

Situated just south of the Arno in the Oltrarno district, the Hotel Silla is a perfect base for exploration of Florence. Hotels in cities in Italy are expensive, and the rate at Hotel Silla is not cheap, but the place is lovely, the rooms well apointed and the breakfast is very satisfying. There's a nice terrace overlooking the river for... More

It was overall great! The noise was a bit frustrating at times specifically if you want to sleep in. The breakfast was ok...enough to get you out the door to start your daily adventure of Florence. The terrace is wonderful and the location is great!!
