I had a very god experience at Dante e Beatrice's. First: remember, it's a B&B. And I spent 2 nights. Having that said, the place is in a good location, you can walk from/to anywhere (Duomo, accademia, mercatto, train station, ponte vecchio, pza michelangiolo, even Fiorentina's stadium if you are in the mood of a longer walk). The building is... More

The room is bigger than usual of Italy, which means you have space to put your stuff and move around easily. The person who runs the place (Ms Mina) is nice and helpful. The internet works really well. The rooms are on the second floor and there is no lift. Might be a bit difficult to find, but if you... More

Most importantly, we received a wonderful welcome as soon as we arrived: A map, & personal suggestions on what to see; thorough, individualized training on the use of the excellent security system. We were extremely delighted with the superb breakfast, with a huge selection of delectable choices (eggs, meat, yogurt, bread, juice, vegetables, pie) & great service once again. The... More

PROs: - the location is very quiet and peaceful, 15 minutes away by foot from the Dom - the rooms are average, and quite clean - still, the shower is very small and surrounded with some kind of curtain (depends from one room to another) - free WiFi CONs: - at this hotel I've experienced the worst breakfast in my... I found this b&b through internet and both the photos of this place seemed nice. But when we got there, I was shocked , the rooms, entrance, breakfast room nothing was the same. I think the photos were taken professionally, rooms neither have garden view nor had balconies. There was only one balcony in the enterance. Everywhere was full of... More

We were quite disappointed! The proprietor was a lovely woman, however, that's where any reference to "lovely" stops with this place. When making our reservations, we requested a room "overlooking the garden" and we received a confirmation reiterating this request. At that time, no mention was made that the building in which this B&B is located was under construction. There... More

stayed just for 1 night while visiting the Duomo. The rooms are quite big and we were the only couple in the B&B if I am right. Very comfy bed...good shower. The receptionist was a Moroccan guy and he was a very good bloke...very helpful and thank God spoke English. It’s very close to the Duomo. Found it quite hard... More

I like the place. Breakfast was good. Owner was helpful. Room was clean? For those searching for accommodation in Florence, this place could be a good choice. Walking distance to the academia. Not too far from ur fizz and near to shopping lots.

We spent two wonderful nights at this B&B. Mina is a great host and very helpfull. The room we stayed was very nice, confortable and clean. The breakfast is nice but could be a little more varied. About 15-20 minutes away from the railway station and very near the main attractions. B&B to consider again next time we visit Florence.... More

We stayed for 3 nights at this very nice bed and breakfast. We had a comfortable room. Excellent breakfast with ample variety. Upon arrival we were offered valet parking which was a big plus since we wanted to leave the car parked while sightseeing Florence. Mina was very nice, accommodating, recommended an excellent restaurant nearby where we enjoyed nice food,... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
