Within 10 minutes walk to train station and many of Florence museums, owners very friendly and helpful, our room was big and bathroom is remolded and clean, breakfast was very good. I would stay there again.

Spacious suite - suitable for 4 adults, and well equipped with good AC, small balcony, fridge, bath and shower with toiletries. Firm beds, very small lift, and lots of stairs. Friendly staff, and located next to Central Market (MUST visit - esp upstairs!) - and only 30m from Osteria Pepo which is fantastic - esp the T-bone steak!!

A friend and I stayed here for three nights during our first trip to Florence. Hotel Collodi provided a safe, clean, and lovely place to stay that was convenient both to the train station and all major sites. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely return!

A friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our time. The staff were always friendly and willing to help with any questions we might have had. The best part about this hotel is the location, it could not be any better. It is located right by the central market and considering Florence is not that large,... More

This is a gorgeous little hotel with lovely rooms and very helpful, friendly staff. It's location is fabulous with everything in easy walking distance. We stayed in room 406 which was beautiful, very clean and comfortable. Lots of space! We had our baby with us and there was more than enough room for our travel cot etc. the breakfast room... More

A simple but cosy hotel in the very center of Florence. Being located in an old building it is quite small (especially the entrance and the room for breakfast) but my room was clean and comfortable, furnished in very good taste. Quiet at night. Staff were extremely kind and willing to help.

Hotel was nice...great location, walking distance to everything including the train station. Clean and comfortable rooms and staff is friendly. Across the street is a little store where you can buy bottled water etc. Breakfast was very simple but adequate. WiFi is free and it worked pretty good. Only problem was having a street side room, very noisy! Not the... More

My wife and myself stayed here for 3 nights. We absolutely loved the place. Giovanni welcomed us the first day, and couldn't be more helpful. The room we got, number 409, was just superb. It even had a little balcony which was great for a few glasses of Chianti after walking around this great city. The rooms were spotlessly clean... More

We arrived at hotel Collodi and were greeted by Guiseppe, one of the wonderful concierges. The hotel was a quick 5 minute walk from the Florence train station, and just minutes from the Mercado Centrale. Everything else in Florence was in walking distance for us. Since we packed light, it wasn't a problem carrying our bags up to the second... More

I bring a group of students to Florence each year. In the past finding a hotel has been super tricky and we've been pretty disappointed with our accommodations in Florence. This year, however, we found a wonderful little hotel—Hotel Collodi. The staff at Hotel Collodi is very friendly and very helpful. The hotel is close to the train station (S.M.N).... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
