The hotel was very comfortable, clean and had the Italian feel (rather than being a 'clinical' hotel that could be anywhere). It was right on the doorstep of the centre of everything. The train station is a 10 minute walk away and about a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport - all taxis charge 20 euros + 1 euro... More

We stayed two nights in Hotel Collidi, 2 families; one of 4 people & one of 3, adults travelling with 17 year olds. Family rooms that contained huge & comfortable double beds & separate single beds for the teens that were on a mezz floor. Really clean, spacious rooms with great en suite shower bathrooms. Breakfast was very good, lots... More

Only spent one night here but rooms were lovely and a great size. Lovely views over the roof tops of Florence. Hotel was superbly located within the centre of Florence. Owner very helpful - we had to sort out parking for our car and he organised for it to be collected and taken to the nearest car park and delivered... More

Spacious suite - suitable for 4 adults, and well equipped with good AC, small balcony, fridge, bath and shower with toiletries. Firm beds, very small lift, and lots of stairs. Friendly staff, and located next to Central Market (MUST visit - esp upstairs!) - and only 30m from Osteria Pepo which is fantastic - esp the T-bone steak!!

A friend and I stayed here for three nights during our first trip to Florence. Hotel Collodi provided a safe, clean, and lovely place to stay that was convenient both to the train station and all major sites. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely return!

A friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our time. The staff were always friendly and willing to help with any questions we might have had. The best part about this hotel is the location, it could not be any better. It is located right by the central market and considering Florence is not that large,... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
