The room was clean and spacious, we had ordered a studio but were given a duplex, quite trendy... but had no atmosphere, it seemed a bit cold but thank fully the weather was nice. AnaMaria who met us was nice and friendly, gave us a few tips on what to see and told us where the nearest supermarket was. The... More

This is the third time I stay in Via Cavour, great place, great friends I have made out here. The flat is clear and neat, I have a beautiful balcony as I've always stayed at the same flat. I make good friends here with Anna, Guido and the neighbor Lucia. While you travel, you need a place like home, and... More

Our family stayed in the Girasole apartment. The apartment says it's 2 bedrooms. I guess it sort of is. There is one bedroom with it's own shower and door you can close. The "2nd" bedroom is a loft with 2 double beds. You don't have the privacy of a door. There is also a pull out couch that can sleep... More

We went to Florence for 7days and we enjoyed our stay at residence Cavour. The apartment is clean, quiet, spacious, the Kitchen full equiped. We had number 6, bathroom, living room and Kitchen at the first floor, Rooms on mezzanine, Queen bed and two single for family. AnaMaria, the manager, makes It exceptionel. She is there regularly, she is generous,... More

Our 3rd time in Florence, and we always booked Cavour as our home. location....location....location Anna was very helpful, she was waiting for us more than 45 minutes (we arrived late) with the AC on, and with our treat,if you are coming to Italy in OVEN season ( july/august) it is alwas nice to ask for a cold room, and a... We stayed in apartment 2 and had a great stay. The apartment has been carved out of a huge room by inserting a mezzanine floor. The work has been nicely done. The new floor does mean that you might not be as comfortable if you are much over 6ft tall. Clean and reasonably well equipped (no wine glasses and no... More

We had a terrible misfortune of booking this hovel based on convenient location, but overall experience ruined our stay in Florence to the point where we left the apartment and the city less than 24 hours after arriving. Staying in this place was the worst mistake of our 26 day journey through Italy. Thanks to MSN, our stay in Florence... More

We had a really hard time finding this place because of the odd numbering system in Florence, but once we did, we found our room very comfortable, extraordinarily clean and safe. It was close to the train station which made it walkable to everything. The owner was very nice and accomodating though cautious. We had to pay extra for wireless... More

Stayed for our easter break in one of the suites. Family of four ( two kids and two adults). Pluses are the location, size and cleanliness. Negatives are the mosquitoes!! the level supposed to be the upper floor was a joke, just the room divided into two levels via a staircase with beds piled up in dorm fashion with loads... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
