I stayed here for 4 nights with my boyfriend. I can honestly say that I have never had such a lovely, sweet and friendly staff like this one! The hotel was really cozy and together with the staff it felt so relaxing and nice to come back to our hotel room after a long day in Firenze. The amazing personal... More

The B&B is situated in what seems to be an apartment block so it can be difficult to find if you are unsure what you are looking for. Our room was small (the bed took up most of it) however the bathroom was fantastic- very fancy and seemed more suited to a posh hotel than a simple B&B!! We were... More

We stayed at the II Marzocco Bed and Breakfast for 8 nights on our first visit to Florence and were not disappointed. Massimo and Emo were the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. On our arrival Massimo welcomed us and gave us tips and ideas of attractions and places to eat in Florence. The location of the B &... More

We had the best experience staying as a guest of Massimo and his brother. They take such pride in what they do. They could not be more helpful, in making your stay pleasant. The location is great, it close to everything, but far enough away to not have to deal with the chaos of it. They helped us get a... More

Stayed 3 nights here. 5 mins walk from SMN station. within 10 mins to Duomo, 20 mins to old bridge. Close to everywhere. The host is VERY friendly, great service. The decoration is the highlight, exactly the same as the official photo. Good breakfast, full enough with variety of choice from ham to boiled egg. Located near a busy road,... More

I stayed there for 2 nights. It is a nice B&B located in a 19 century building. Tidy room with fair size. Only 5 mins walk from train station. We were served by nice and helpful staff. I would certainly stay there again if I visit Florence next time.

I stayed at this B&B 2 weeks ago and was impressed by the renaissance/classical ambience because of the furnishings and ceiling fresco. The owner took pride in his city and really put in the effort to decorate the rooms. Breakfast was simple and filling enough in a very pleasant cosy dining room. Hotel was 800m away from the Roma terminal... More

We only had the opportunity to stay one night but we wish we would have had the opportunity to stay longer. Beautiful rooms, great service and super breakfast. Because we had to depart for airport at 7:3o Marco had breakfast ready for us at 7:00am. He also made reservation for us to see Statue of David the day we arrived... More

Stayed over in Florence for 2 nights on an Italy tour and this place was up there! Very clean, very original and classic design (what you expect from Florence!) and very friendly and hospitable owners! Don't be put off by the not so grand entrance!

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
