Quiet, in the heart of Florence, nice, clean, comfortable. When you check out you are free to leave your luggage and go out, and you can return through the day to go to the washroom, use the computers, use the wifi, or relax 8n the common room. A wonderful experience.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for three nights. The location is excellent, steps away from the Duomo, and walking distance from everywhere. The room and bathroom where clean, but don't expect more. The air conditioning was kind of outdated and noisy. The staff is great, always eager to help. Breakfast was good, and the price for the... A very comfortable stay in a great part of Florence- breakfast was very casual and front staff was adequate- our room faced an inner courtyard, which wasn't really used by other guests, but your only options to cover the windows were very sheer blinds, or wooden shutters that completely made the room dark- very small detail but worth noting. Would... More

Pros: LOCATION - right next to the Duomo and halfway between Accademia and Uffizi. Clean Friendly staff Breakfast (it's not great, but at least they have something) Good price Cons: wifi was terrible (emailing was fine but not Skyping) a bit noisy (doors are thin)

We stayed for two nights and was very happy with this hotel - we thought it really good value. As other reviewers have said it is very central and I did wonder slightly about noise but we needn't have. The hotel is in a very old building but that makes for cool comfortable spacious rooms with old shuttered windows which... More

We just stayed two nights at Hotel Axial. Three rooms. Rooms were standard European size with high ceilings. Furnishings average. Bath fixtures mostly newer. Bedspread dated. Tile floors. Crisp sheets. A/C in rooms worked at 25 Celsius but shut off if you tried to put temperature lower. Noisy fan at high setting. Small fridge in each room. Good water pressure... More

I was here in June 2015. After getting through the hassle of rolling your heavy luggage over cobblestone pavements, you will reach the busy Piazza del Duomo square. Hotel Axial and Hotel Maxim are basically the same. Operated in the same building but on different floors. Hotel Axial is one floor above the wooden entrance; Hotel Maxim is three floors... More

I stayed here for two nights. I found the price for the location to be excellent. Only a ten minute walk from station and metres from the Duomo. The staff were helpful with a map and where to visit. Apart from a couple of maintenance issues in the room, they were very clean and quiet rooms.

You can't get a better location for the price - Axial is literally steps away from the Duomo. This meant I could pop across the road for 7.30 mass and experience the silent majesty of the building away from the ever-present crowds of Florence....a rare treat. The crowds were not my favourite part of Firenze, and the fact that Axial... More

A location to die for. Hotel Axial is at the heart of old Florence. Turn left, you are a minute's walk from the Duomo. Turn right, the Palazzio Vechio and Ufezzi Gallery is a 2 minute walk. Another minute takes you to the banks of the Arno and the Ponte Vecchio. All major attraction are within a mile radius of... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
