I staid at the B&B for one night in a single room and was very pleased. It was well-located near the Academy gallery just a short walk from the train station. The room was comfortable, clean, with great airconditioning (it was 100 degrees F outside!) and free wifi. Breakfast was just a croissant and cappuccino at the next-door tea room... More

Lanterna Fiorentina Bed & Breakfast How Chy D can say this property does not offer value for money is beyond my understanding - for what you get in Florence it is a bargain. It is true that, if you must have a big hearty breakfast before you start the day, you might be better staying elsewhere but for those coming... More

I had to leave my hostel for one night during my time in Florence as there was no availability as i wanted to stay longer (Florence was the best city!) so I booked a night at the Lanterna Fiorentina last minute as the rate was very very good for a single room, and it was just down the road from... This was so much nicer that I had expected. We had a triple room and my son was very impressed (he wanted to stay in a 5 star hotel haha). The rooms were lovely, it was quiet, it was central, Gianna was very kind and helpful. I panicked a bit when we arrived and there was no answer but I... More

Negatives: When we booked we had only been told that our double-room had a private bathroom outside. Actually it was a single room ( really tiny with a temporary added bed) connected by a door to another room. No privacy. Then the bathroom had no window and was so tiny as to be claustrophobic (we had to stay with the... More

To be honest, this B&B was my second choice in Florence, and I wasn't expecting much more than an average stay. But I was rather pleasantly surprised! The room was much bigger and brighter than others I'd stayed in for the same price, and had a homely yet luxurious feel to it. I was stoked to find a kettle and... More

We love this b&b and would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Florence. Gianna is very helpful and has everything prepared upon our arrival. The rooms are very clean and lovely. The location is great. it is within walking distance to the key places of interest. We love the breakfast place opposite the b&b. Highly recommended!

Gianna was a fabulous host at her lovely B&B in Florence. I had just parted ways from my travel group and had one day where I was traveling on my own. Florence was the perfect place to go, and Lanterna Fiorentina was the perfect lodging! The room was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was terrific, very clean and a... More

I was in Florence with some friends who were staying at a hostel. There weren't beds available when I went to make my reservations, so I sought out another lodging option. I'm so glad I found Giana and the Lanterna. What a fantastic place! The rooms are very comfortable and are a nice size. The bathroom was also great. It... More

Great location in an area with several restaurants and shops, and very close to the public market. An easy walk to the sights of Florence. Room was clean, comfortable and not small with LCD TV, wireless internet, and breakfast included at a Cafe just down the street. Our room had a large window that opened into a courtyard and was... Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
