Cannot fault the large, clean room & friendly owner. But unfortunatly the weekend stay was spoilt by the noise of shouting from people outside the bars in the street below and car horns untill 4.00 AM on both Friday and Saturday nights. This is obviously beyond the control of the owner, but due to this I would not stay here... More

Centrally located, reasonably priced B&B. Nice rooms in an old building. Carlo, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. One disappointment is the breakfast. Everything comes pre-packaged. It's ok but definitely has potential for improvement.

Just returned from a two week trip in Europe, and this was easily the best place we've stayed. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and spotlessly clean. Carlo, the host, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The b&b is very close to the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio and everything else you'd like to see in Florence. Can't wait to come back to... More

We had a really gorgeous, large, very tastefully decorated room. And we were given a second bed because we were just two friends travelling and preferred not to share a double. Everything was very comfortable and clean. The location is excellent, close to the river and the historic areas. The host Carlo is completely charming and helpful, and speaks excellent... More

I stayed two nights at the B&B and it was great for our stay. Not too close to the train station, but its a small city and was easy to get around. The building itself is very old, but well mainted and was a pleasure to stay in. Rooms were clean and had no problems.

My husband and I stayed at Carlo De'Benci B&B in early September 2012 for 3 nights and we are very happy that we chose exactly this place! The hosts are very welcoming, kind and nice people. Our room was very comfortable. The B&B is really close to almost all the interesting places to visit in the centre of Florence. We'd... More

We loved De' Benci. Carlo was a great host and the rooms were absolutely beautiful. The hotel was conveniently located and felt safe. It was about a 20 minute walk from the train station so a bit of a hike with your luggage. But it was close to the river and near shopping. Unfortunately we did not have time to... More

The location is fantastic, with easy access to all main attractions. The room we had was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was fine, and perfectly adequate. Carlos was very helpful, and also very understanding when we managed to lock ourselves out! We would definitely return to the De' Benci, and will also recommend it to friends. Many thanks to... More

In reality, our room was even better than it looked in their on-site photos ! We felt we were guests in a palace rather than tourists in a hotel. The size of the room, the atmosphere and of course the hospitality, were second to none. Carlo and his mum were the perfect hosts. Noise from the street? Well yes, there was... More

We stayed at the De Benci recently and have been really impressed by the place. The service was efficient and friendly, the rooms are clean, spacious and beautiful; and its central location makes it a perfect choice to get a good feel of the city on a short stay. Also the price and the quality offered compared to many other... More

Thank you very much for your review. I want just to say that we usually serve an italian breakfast here, thus there are no things like eggs and bacon. About the key... WHY did not you ask for another key??? I could have given you another one, if I only have known... :( More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
In the heart of the old city of Florence, just between Piazza Santa Croce and Piazza della Signoria, there is De Benci b&b, bed and breakfast in Florence, ideal base for visiting one of the most beautiful cities on earth and its art.The visit, the discovery of the capital of the Renaissance already begins within the walls of De Benci b&b.The atmosphere is very charming, stylish and romantic: you will be welcomed into elegantly furnished suites with every modern comfort (air conditioning/heating, private bathroom in room, digital lcd tv - DTV, internet connection, Etc.).The bed and breakfast is on the fourth floor of an ancient building (dating back to 1300) with the recent installation of modern lift. The thick and textured interior walls are painted rose. The doors are as light as ivory. Very wide windows let the light go in. The typical Tuscan floor and the ancient wooden-beam ceiling enrich the entire structure. In all over the place you can find small details in characteristic stone (i.e. pietra serena), in ancient brick or in dark wrought iron and brass that decorate the environment, but soft colour and scent of wood reign over all. Every detail has been chosen with great care, taste and passion. ... more   less
