The first problem I had, along with some poor Spanish lads, was that upon arriving at the place there was no-one to answer the door, we waited, rang the bell many times and, after they left, I stayed a bit longer till someone showed up. Once there it was OK. They gave me a nice 3 bed room, I could... More

Dont do it. You have to pay extra for everything (sheets, air condition...), the staff is never around and when someone is at the reseption, they are talking on a phone. The beds are really uncomfy and this place has the worst hostel kitchen in a long time. There is also just two toilets, which by the way are always... More

The one guy at the reception was so rude to me. He shouted, swore and was being extremely rude when all I wanted to do what check out at 9am since the reception is only open 9-12 and he arrived at 9.20 and I had a train to catch. If he wants to run a business, maybe reception should be... More

This hostel is the worst one I have ever seen in my entire life! When we arrived the hostel was empty. In our private bathroom there was poo in the toilet and it was smelly. The room would have been ok, but it was dirty, dusty and just unhygenic. The mattresses were old and celarly have been used for years.... More

The hostel is conveniently close to the main attractions and the train station. The owner is unfriendly, the reception is only open from 9 am until noon. The other moments you can enter with a code although we had a lot of troubles with this. Be aware if you don't bring your own bed cover and warn the owner you're... More

Great location but the staff is non existent and when they were there, it was only when I needed to pay my bill and he was not a friendly man. A nice hostel and great location though! Have an umbrella in July it rained everyday.

If you are considering this hostel, click back on your browser and choose another. We received and email before arriving stating that reception is open from 9-1pm, this is not true. We arrived just before noon to find the place abandoned and waited outside for nearly an hour before the owner happened to walk by. We tried calling him and... More

We were 4 people to visit Florence and booked at here from 2 different sites: booking.com and hostelworld. We had to pay full price via booking.com. But at the end the hotel charges us some extra fees without any explanation. So we asked and the only response we could get was "you want the sheets or not?". So we understood... More

The only good thing about this place is location ... very close to the railway station and the good sightseeing places. room was bad, quite uncomfortable, NO WIFI... the room looked something like 1990's just two beds and a working shower. in one sentence, "i won't have paid 60 euros for this had i seen the room"

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
