My boyfriend and I stayed there for five nights in August 2011 and it was the WORST idea ever!! The beds were crowded with BED BUGS!!! We couldn't get rid of them even with insect repellent and found one that had traveled in our things after the trip. We had to call a number for check-in three times and a... More

So... It's good place to sleep if U don't need more space, comfortable beds, clean bathroom and... a window in your room. Yes - there is a room without a view ;) Very interesting place.

one of the worst hostels EVER. the only good thing about it was the location. I called several times to confirm my reservation and still they got it wrong. There was just a lady when we arrived, then everybody from the staff simply DISAPPEARED, leaving us on our own. There were only two towels, and after the first day the... More

Do not stay here. We had booked another hostel, but they had problems so moved us here. My husbands bed had large bugs in it, mine had bed bugs. I was miserable for a week with itching, to say nothing of what I looked like. People stared at me with all the bites I had on my arms, hands, face,... More

This place was only just OK to stay in - our experience here was less to do with the features available & presentation of the room, but more, with the safety & service offered here. We rocked up to Locanda David for the first night of our two-night stay, in the middle of the afternoon. Despite having to let the... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
