This past September we stayed at the Hotel Aldobrandini, a no frills option in the very middle of Florence. Please note this hotel occupies partial floors of what used to be a palace in its heyday so there's NO sign outside; you must go by the exact street address & ring the large bell on your right to get in.... Not the cleanest place, but is safe and in a great location. Can't remember the male manager's name but he was super friendly and helpful. Had to go up a short, wobbly, narrow, spiral staircase....we were backpacking so this didn't matter but if you had large luggage, or found stairs challenging this might bug you. Some noise in the mornings... More

I (middle aged woman travelling solo) stayed here four nights in January (low season in Florence). Lovely old palazzo. Location is fantastic - very central and short walk to Duomo. Proprietors were friendly, but one of them chain smokes, so the hall often reeks of smoke. I had a basic room with shared bath. It was perfectly adequate, but I... More

The hotel is very basic. Rooms are small and old, but clean. At night you can not only hear street noise, but also water running from other apartments, which was annoying. Breakfast also very basic. Personnel was nice though. We didn´t had a bad stay, but I would look for somewhere else to stay.

Let me say that I didn't like at all this hotel and I would never recommend it to anyone. Is very expensive for what they are offering. The only good think is the central location. The room is very small and tired. You can hear what you neighbors’ are talking about and all the noise from the corridors. The women... More

Great location and friendly staff contributed to an overall good experience. I did have a bit of trouble finding it, but once I got oriented to Florence's house numbering, I found it easily. Having a large door to look for helped immensely! I stayed in a room with a shared bath, but had a sink and shower in the room.... More

For the price this place was fantastic and I will come back again. The accommodation is centrally located and fhe hosts bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable. After following the suggestions relating to finding it, and using gps we found it easily. The breakfast was also really delicious and the bathrooms were nice and clean.

Sure it's quirky. That's what makes it so special! Who needs more? Clean, well managed, with a SPECTACULAR location and an AMAZING history in one of the world's most interesting cities. You need to read the history of Florence and the Aldobrandini family to know how special this hotel is. Then -- if you don't mind my being coarse --... More

First, let me say that I liked this place more than my wife. I thought it was clean and safe and I loved the fact that it was in the middle of everything you want to see in Florence. Walls were thick so you did not hear your neighbors conversations. By no means is this the Ritz... Technically it is... More
