This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast but I don't think I will do it again. I was really worried because my train getting there was late and I wasn't sure I would be able to get in. When I arrived at 6 pm I pressed the buzzer repeatedly to no avail but luckily my daughter... More

Just perfect. It is a family owed place and over 500 years old! Crazy! Our room was big with our own private bath. Hubby and I had a big bed and our boys had a comfy pull out couch. The owner was fabulous. Kind, helpful... I hugged her when we left! Clean, price is right and just a cool place... More

Charming and quaint decor everywhere Served breakfast every morning which is a treat Neat water machine that provides fizzy and natural water Only snag: the several flight of stairs as you have to carry your luggage up and down, which makes it extremely inconvenient unless you are young and strong.

I have to start with the staff they were so helpful and kind! I can be easily overwhelmed with cities and Florence has always something new for me. The whole city is wonderful, it is truly like an open air museum. I was visiting alone, but I have never had a boring moment there. The B&B is so well located!... More

I visited with my partner Florence for the first time. We found this lovely B&B online and booked directly with the reception. The booking was easy and quick, I received a confirmation letter with so many informaion included... (I saw a review earlier, that someone did not know of the stairs... In our confirmation letter it was stated.) As we... More

We spent a week in Casa Rovai and I loved every minute of it! It is a lovely B&B basically 15 minutes from the train station. Our street is quiet so we got a good night sleep which I think is very important after a busy day in the town! =) We got every help from the lovely receptionist Stefania.... More

We arrived in early May. The government reportedly restricts air conditioning before a certain date in the spring, so we had no air conditioning the first night. We opened the windows of our 4 person room onto a common court yard. Although four floors up, we could hear noise from a restaurant kitchen below and eventually closed the windows. The... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
