I paid for 'a room' and got half a caravan with a rusty camp bed on a un even floor! Fortunately I was only using the place as a friend was getting married in a villa few miles up the road. Had I have been here for any other reason I'd be disappointed. To be fair it was out off-season... More

Firstly it was the cleanest and the tidiest campsites. The toilets and bathrooms were as good as new. The camping was a little too far from Florence but quiet. We couldn't get proper wifi as we had to pay 3 euros for just 1 hour for one device. The people at the reception and at the restaurant were friendly.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a tent to visit florence. It is quite close to Florence, with a bus it takes about 40 minutes. Which I was ok with when having a quiet place to stay. The bus does not run very often but you can plan easily. The service was very good, very friendly people and helped... More

Stayed here for 2 nights and was very impressed. Staff incredibly helpful, very clean facilities, excellent bar and restaurant. Awesome food at really cheap prices, they are not fibbing when they say the locals go there, and for good reason. Handy shop, massive pool area. Local bus stops just down the road and drops you in the centre of Florence... More

Yes, it is far from florence city center but if u want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city and into a place with nice views in a quiet town, this is it for you. I choose this place mainly because I wanted to see and stay in a place outside of florence, and since I... More

We travelled in a motorhome. Great location in the Tuscan hills. Bus stop about 10mins walk from camp, very pleasant bus ride to Florence . We had no need of night visits to Florence so last bus to camp at 7.40 was not a problem. Restaurant was excellent and not pricey. Wi-Fi was not good, expensive and poor signal other... More

Wifi not free despite very expensive 38 euros a night out of season by far the most expensive site so far. White knuckle ride (as per previously... More

Camping Village Il Poggetto has friendly staff, a good on-site restaurant and a great central location if you want to visit places across Tuscany. we used it as a base to go to Florence, Siena and a few other places. You will need transport unless you rely on local buses. We were there in September and it was very quiet,... More

Friendly and informative staff - on arrival they gave us details of the bus and maps for visiting the region and Florence. The site has terraced pitches with lovely views over the Tuscan hills. Facilities for BBQs, and good, clean toilet and dish washing facilities. There was a nice looking pool, but unfortunately for us it had just closed at... More

My friend and I were travelling around Florence, Pisa and Bologna and this was our first campsite that we stayed at. Positives: 1. The beauty of the location. It's situated in the Tuscan hills just outside Troghi, and this provided a lot of photo opportunities! The sights and smell of fresh basil in the air is quite something. 2. Service... More
