Good hotel down on the river - you get what you pay for and i would use this hotel again. Nothing fancy. Clean and staff were helpfull. Breakfast needs worked on as incredibly basic. There are no real attractions or restaruants around so you have to walk (15 mins) into the centre.

Dear v1ctim thank you so much for your feedback, always precious :) I look forward to your next visit but - please - next time ASK suggestions for restaurants as we have a lot in a five minutes walking range from the Hotel, including a very typical and local one right in front of the Hotel :) Saluti da Firenze... My wife and I stayed here one night last week, after we decided to extend our stay in Florence by one day. It is a very nice hotel, but there was construction going on right outside our window. I highly recommend staying here, but would wait until maybe after April to be sure the construction is done. It's about a... More

Considering its location, which is very strategic, and the fact that it has its own parking lot (a big deal in Florence) - we recommend Hotel Crocini. The hotel is located in an ZTL zone, which means that public vehicles cannot circulate on the area, but Lorenzo (the owner) sent us a map, showing how we could get there without... More

Dear Shirley thank you very much for your feedback, I just would like to tell you that the hairdryer is actually working, in all our rooms there is a safety switch in the bathroom, on the side of the light switch on the mirror that should be pushed to enable it... if you just asked.. :) Saluti da Firenze -... Hotel Crocini is perfect for those who are looking for something authentic. Its dated look and musty rooms create an element of authenticity in spectacular Florence. The rooms are mid size with two doubles slapped together, a small tv and star up shower. As is normal in Italy. Theres an armour where you can keep some clothes and small side... More

A 10 minute walk from the train station, this hotel was absolutely charming. It is located down the street from the US embassy, but you can easily walk past the embassy to the Lungarno Amerigo Vespucci (street running alongside the river) to make your way to Ponte Vecchio. We took a tiny, two person elevator (or one person plus luggage)... More

Hotel is located quite a way from the tourist attractions, but once we had discovered where the tram and bus services were located and how the bus and tram system worked it was no problem. Buffet breakfast was very good. The room we had was clean enough but needed decorating. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Hotel Crocini has a special style. Probably once very grand it now manages great charm. It's location is near the American Embasy and near the river in Florence. A pleasent fifteen minute walk into the centre. Close enough to feel part of the city. The breakfast could be a little more exciting, but all is fresh. I would go back.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
