We spent 4 nights at hotel crocini and had been so nervous to see if it lived up to the excellent reviews luckily i was not disappointed! As others have said for the price they charge i was not expecting much but the welcome and service we received during our stay were over and above any i have experienced in... More

The other reviews from Trip Advisor said it was a wonderful place to stay in and I went along with that. The place was clean, basic and had good air conditioning. The gentleman at the reception the first day was helpful and gave suggestions on getting around the city. The tram stop is not far away and that made it... More

I loved everything about this hotel! The location, just 1 city tramway stop from the train station, was perfect. The receptionists were attentive, warm and helpful. They prepared a breakfast bag for me, as my departure was early in the morning. I stayed in the room pictured here. Just my speed. The bathroom had a tub, a rare find these... More

This was the first time to stay at a 2 stars hotel but we had a very good experience there. The quadruple room was clean and really spacious and has an air condition. The internet connection was excellent. The location is also good and you can reach the center within 10 minutes walk. The staff was really friendly and provided... More

Similar to other reviews, I disagree with the 2 star rating. I would give it another star. The only reason why it could possible be 2 stars is because of the bathrooms. However, the rooms are large, air conditioned (which is extremely important in the summer). Each room has a fridge. We were greeted well and the host was so... More

Florence is a beautiful city. And this hotel forms an incredibly charming part of this beautiful city. It is a place that has a lot of character, such as the beautiful courtyard, the windows - even the staircase! The rooms are nice and decently big and the bed was very comfortable. One of the best parts about my room was... More

I loved this hotel. The location was amazing and so is Florence itself. My favorite part of Italy. The hotel has large rooms, nice bathroom and is very clean. The staff are great and very helpful. Beautiful breakfast. The city is very easy to get around in and you can walk everywhere. The shopping is amazing. I strongly recommend Florence... More

We really liked this hotel and cannot believe it is only 2 star. It has loads of character and features, such as the stone staircase going around an old fashioned central open caged wood/brass elavator. The rooms were air conditioned, spotlessly clean, large with high ceilings, large draped windows, fancy chandeliers, etc. Ours was a beautfully furnished two bedroom suite,... More

Located in quieter part of town & a relatively straight forward walk from the Stazione, the hotel is also very close to the river, and a lovely walk up to Ponte Vecchio and sights. We booked a standard double room which was very spacious including the bathroom, and well maintained. Quiet at night, but felt very safe. Buffet breakfast was... More

We stayed for 2 nights and loved it here. Clean, comfortable with friendly staff and the breakfast was good also. It is set in a beautiful location and only a short stroll along the river to the city centre. We would highly recommend stay and will be back in the future ☺

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
