Great B and B. Awesome owner, she has everything you could want in the room, cold water in the fridge, high speed wifi, AC, TV, garden view, and small stuffs like shaver mosquito killer and many more you could find handy and useful. Fluent English, nice and helpful. I got a queen size bed room, and I love love love... More

Right near the Folrence train station and an easy walk to most of the local sights and attractions. Run by a lovely lady called Silvia, she is very welcomming and helpful and a great help if you have notbeen to Florence before. Breakfast is served in your room at the time you request. We had a back room that was... More

La locandiera was perfect. 5 minute walk from firenze S.M.N station and close enough to the main city where you can eat anywhere and see the major attractions. Silvia was very pleasant and served us a great breakfast every morning, she was very kind and helpful on our trip. The rooms were nice, clean and spacious, as well as the... More

Clean, comfortable and nice location in the reasonable price. Easy to find and very close to the Venezia S.M.N. Station. Room and bathroom are big and nice. The staff "Silvia" very friendly and helpful.

Would not stay here again, not worth the money we paid! Quality of breakfast was poor. Door at bottom of staires very hard to open from both sides, very dark staires and struggle to find light. Small rooms, despite the high ceilings.

Mrs. Jennifer, I was very surprised to receive and more to read your review, as while your three days spent at La Locandiera you shown and said the exact opposite of what you have written. I will go through of each words you've written, over in what you told me or did not while you were here. The first thing... More

We just returned from Italy: Venice, Florence, and Rome. The La Locandiera was a great find and having breakfast brought to our door was convenient and delicious. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and equipped with Sky TV for cable viewing. Silvia, who was helped us out a lot, offered some great local restaurants to try and we were not... More

This B&B was in a perfect location as we arrived by train, only few minutes walk from the SM Novella train station. When we arrived we were told that our reservation was by mistake made from the next day. This was no problem, we were escorted to the four star hotel next door and stayed the first night there. Next... More

Everything in florence is walking distance. But if you are traveling with kids, walking is not always an option. La locandiera has a c2 minibus stop in front ( goes to duomo), bus 13 down the corner to the right ( going to michaelangelo piazza) and for shoppers, the bus to the mall is just down the corner also to... Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
