Friendly mother and son hosts in a great location. We booked 2 apartments, 4 teenagers in one and myself and husband across the hallway. Kitchenette was great for toast at breakfast time but couldn't imagine preparing an evening meal, not enough space. Bathroom was clean, with good water pressure, but water could have been a bit hotter. No lift but... More

Very nice place with excellent location, the landlady was friendly and helpful. Kitchen equipped very well for a short stay: several dishes, wide range of glasses, a pot and a pan, a kettle and a small fridge. The building is rather old, but we didn't have problems with hot water. A bit pricey during hot season (like New Year's holidays).

A perfect location to explore Firenze, just a couple of blocks from the Duomo and to the museum with David, also about a ten minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio. The lobby and hallways all nicely finished. But this is a very ancient building and there are heaps of stairs therefore no lift so if you have knee or back... More

What I liked was that it was close to all the major attractions, and can be reached on foot. It was an average accommodation, guess not that pricey for florence. Also a little kitchenette which was very welcoming. However a few things to note, the drying machine was out of order and we were not informed. Quite annoying to have... More

What a perfect location! The parking garage is directly across the street and the Accademia is a block away. The street access was safe and the unit was clean and comfortable. WiFi was always working and the kitchen was adequate.

I have stayed at this location twice in different apartments and both experiences have been outstanding. This is a perfect location particularly at night when all the other tourists leave!! The accommodation is clean, good room configurations for families and small kitchenettes if you want to eat in. The service is excellent and the hosts are very helpful and friendly.

We stayed at Piccolo Residence Apart-Hotel for six nights in March of 2014 after a week in Rome. It is located on Via Ricasoli midway between the Duomo (church) and The Academia (gallery). They are about three long city blocks apart and probably the two most important sites in Florence. The studio apartment was fresh, beautiful, and spotlessly clean. The... More

Great location as well as quiet but the most uncomfortable beds we have ever had in all our travels. We wanted an apartment so as to be able to eat in however there was no place to put the kettle or prepare anything. The kitchen area consisted of a sink with two plate ceramic stove top inches away in a small... Our room was fairly cramped and there was no elevator but that can be expected from a building so old. The corridors smelt a bit musty but the rooms were lovely and ours had a view onto the courtyard. The staff were very helpful and efficient but we had to go up and down the stairs whenever we needed them... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
