What I liked was that it was close to all the major attractions, and can be reached on foot. It was an average accommodation, guess not that pricey for florence. Also a little kitchenette which was very welcoming. However a few things to note, the drying machine was out of order and we were not informed. Quite annoying to have... More

What a perfect location! The parking garage is directly across the street and the Accademia is a block away. The street access was safe and the unit was clean and comfortable. WiFi was always working and the kitchen was adequate.

I have stayed at this location twice in different apartments and both experiences have been outstanding. This is a perfect location particularly at night when all the other tourists leave!! The accommodation is clean, good room configurations for families and small kitchenettes if you want to eat in. The service is excellent and the hosts are very helpful and friendly.

We stayed at Piccolo Residence Apart-Hotel for six nights in March of 2014 after a week in Rome. It is located on Via Ricasoli midway between the Duomo (church) and The Academia (gallery). They are about three long city blocks apart and probably the two most important sites in Florence. The studio apartment was fresh, beautiful, and spotlessly clean. The... More

-firstly the location, right in the center near the Duomo--very, very important, and staff - a Japanese family very fair and helpful ... big room, clean .... -at what rates practiced in Florence is an ideal which I recommend honest ... -kitchenette with everything you need --in our room did not quite open the window and I just had Wi-Fi... Great location as well as quiet but the most uncomfortable beds we have ever had in all our travels. We wanted an apartment so as to be able to eat in however there was no place to put the kettle or prepare anything. The kitchen area consisted of a sink with two plate ceramic stove top inches away in a small... Our room was fairly cramped and there was no elevator but that can be expected from a building so old. The corridors smelt a bit musty but the rooms were lovely and ours had a view onto the courtyard. The staff were very helpful and efficient but we had to go up and down the stairs whenever we needed them... More

We loved the Piccolo! The location of this place is second to none - the Duomo at one end of the street, and the statue of David at the other. Close to the markets and restaurants - we walked everywhere in Florence from here. The apartment was spotlessly clean, crisp bedding and pillows, fresh mattresses and fluffy towels. Our room... Piccolo is undeniably close to most attractions in Florence and the owner is pretty friendly and warm. However, that's where the good stuff ends. The rooms are old, shabby and dark. It doesn't have that cozy feeling. The bathroom looks tattered and cheap. Definitely not worth staying a second time. You can probably find better accomodation in Florence.

Via Ricasoli has the Duomo at one end and the Galleria dell'Accedemia at the other - Piccolo Residence Apartment Hotel is about in the middle. I stayed in a studio apartment that was clean and large with a useful kitchenette. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom had numerous towels that were changed regularly. The downside to my stay was... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
