Stayed here for one night only. Elizabetta was very welcoming and accommodating. She had even prepared a map of the city with the best vantage points for watching the fireworks highlighted. The hotel was a short walk from the bus/train terminals and so very close to the Duomo, just a 1-2 min walk. Easy to find as we knew we... More

It is literally located one block over from the the Duomo in Florence, can't get better than that. You can reach every museum and sight in the city center within a 10-15 min walk. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfast is your standard Italian breakfast and does the trick when your running out in the morning for... More

The location is easy to walk to from train or bus, and a block from the Duomo. Elisabetta (excellent English) is a wonderful hostess and very eager to help in any way she can. She told us the best way to get to Florence (bus from Pisa airport) and sent us the schedule. She was waiting at the hotel for... More

I loved my little room here, quiet and with a little bit of old-world atmosphere, high ceiling and a window to a non-descript lane a stone's thrown from the Duomo. Very good bedding, bed, tiny private bathroom (that probably needs redoing, but it was clean and had a good shower). Best thing was the attentiveness and helpfulness of the reception.... More

Excellent position. Very clean Rooms aren't big but sufficient considering we only slept there Way too much to do to stay in your hotel room Il duomo rings the church bell pretty early so yes can be annoying but anywhere you stay in that part of town it will happen But definitely the best part of the city At night... It is THE PLACE to stay in Florence. Elizabetta is awesome and the provided service is excellent. The building is a restored old palace, just one block from the Duomo, so the location is unbeatable. Since the first moment we arrived, Elizabetta helped us to organize our stay in the city, providing a lot of information about the city, facilities... More

We stayed there for the first time in May and were really happy with the location. Elizabetta was wonderful, couldn't do enough for us. The location is perfect being only a few steps away from the Duomo. Nothing flashy but nice and clean. The street is quite noisy but with the window closed you can't hear anything. We had a... More

This is a small 4 bedroomed B&B run by a very pleasant lady named Elisabetta who really made us feel very comfortable. The actual place was a bit difficult to locate initially as we could'nt find the tiny nameplate of the hotel and passed by it twice before actually going up close to the building as our map kept telling... I’ll start by saying this (and elaborate below): when you reserve a room here MAKE SURE TO TELL THEM (via e-mail or phone) WHAT TIME TO EXPECT YOU. And make sure they write it down EXACTLY – my American friends – using military time in this case might help. Get their phone number where they can be reached when you... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
