We stayed here for two nights and found the location to be perfect for exploring Florence. It is literally a thirty second walk to the Duomo but is in a street that is quieter than the proximity would suggest. We received a nice welcome from Elisabeta and found the room to be satisfactory for the time we were there, nothing... More

I stayed at this fabulous B&B for 4 nights at the end of November & I absolutely loved it. I arrived late in the afternoon by train & it was an easy 10 minute walk from the station. Elisabetta was very welcoming, providing tea or coffee immediately, maps, tips & information about the area in general. And then there is... More

A real gem of a Bed and Breakfast right in the heart of Firenze & seconds walk away from the Duomo. You couldn’t ask for a more convenient location to explore Florence, as it is also situated around 10 minutes walk away from the main Santa Maria Novella station. I must say Elisabeta was probably the most welcoming host I... More

Literally 1 block away from Duomo and a few steps away from the train station. The area is full of restaurants, bars, shops and beautiful buildings. The host was lovely and provided maps and information of the city, she even did a reservation for the Galleria dell'Accademia for us. The room was big, quiet and clean, kitchen area is lovely,... Excellent location 1/2 a block from Duomo. Nice, clean, affordable room, Elizabetta couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. We were only in town for 24 hours and she helped us cut out the fat and get us the best value considering our time constraints. Highly recommend.

The location is fantastic, the room comfortable and quiet, staff is friendly and multi lingual. The price is good. If I could give them a 6, I would. I will be staying here again. Elizabetta went above and beyond helping us with some special needs and not only gave us great restaurant suggestions but drew directions on our map.

Stayed here for one night only. Elizabetta was very welcoming and accommodating. She had even prepared a map of the city with the best vantage points for watching the fireworks highlighted. The hotel was a short walk from the bus/train terminals and so very close to the Duomo, just a 1-2 min walk. Easy to find as we knew we... More

It is literally located one block over from the the Duomo in Florence, can't get better than that. You can reach every museum and sight in the city center within a 10-15 min walk. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfast is your standard Italian breakfast and does the trick when your running out in the morning for... More

The location is easy to walk to from train or bus, and a block from the Duomo. Elisabetta (excellent English) is a wonderful hostess and very eager to help in any way she can. She told us the best way to get to Florence (bus from Pisa airport) and sent us the schedule. She was waiting at the hotel for... More

I loved my little room here, quiet and with a little bit of old-world atmosphere, high ceiling and a window to a non-descript lane a stone's thrown from the Duomo. Very good bedding, bed, tiny private bathroom (that probably needs redoing, but it was clean and had a good shower). Best thing was the attentiveness and helpfulness of the reception.... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
