B&B is a few quarters on the ground floor. Quite big and clean room, refrige (which doesn't cut off when you go away), LCD TV, quiet place (but not soundproof), private bathroom in the room. Not much of a daylight (windows are closed) but in some rooms there are doors to the garden and you can open them. 15 min... More

Location is not central, but not too far from the center, either. Owner is friendly and very helpful. My companion was afraid of fires in hotels; so she got the room with direct access to the garden/court yard.

Location is not great. You can walk from the train station but it's at least 15mins (direction opposite to the centre) and the area is not very nice. If you are in Florence to visit the city, you'll need 20mins to reach the centre. There are many similar B&Bs with a better location. The rooms are quite big but furniture... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
