An adorable little villa in the hills near Florence. Sweet smelling flowers greeted our arrival into a cute hotel. It's up a very narrow road that the bus couldn't reach, so we had to wheel the luggage about 100 yards, but no biggie. Cute rooms with gorgeous views. We woke up to sunshine and roosters every day as we looked... More

Almost perfect. Only 20 minute bus drive from the very center of Florence (San Marco bus No 7, 1€/ticket - taxi price 12-15€). Ideal for hot summer days: a naive view on Fiesole, cool rooms, helpful staff, even a small estuarine in100 m, and a lovely pizzeria in 700 m. Rooms are cool (it was 32 C - and I... More

Having a quite basic rooms, this hotel offer a good location to visit Florence, with a very good connection to the town centre through the public transport, and the possibility to enjoy the view from the Fiesole hill that is really nearby (also easily reachable via public transport). Breakfast is also quite basic but cakes and croissant are good.

Just beware that Florence is overrun with tourists all year round even in January. Villa La Stella is the ideal oasis to retreat to after a busy day in Florence. It is set in a secluded residential area on the way up to Fiesole. From there you have a great sunset & sunrise view of the City including the Duomo.... More

We stayed at Villa La Stella for two nights and really enjoyed it. The location was perfect since we could leave the car there and catch the bus into town (20 mins). We really loved that the Villa is away from the busy city centre. That way we could get away from the craziness and have our peace and quiet... More

I was in Florence for a conference at the nearby EUI and while the rooms were somewhat small, it was a great, quiet place to prepare for the conference (and to rest in the aftermath thereof). Above all else, the staff were delightful, friendly, and extremely helpful (special thumbs up for Agata at the front desk). They helped me out... More

Villa la Stella is a beautiful place with a stunning view. Particularly enjoyed the seclusion, though getting around Firenze is quite simple from the convent. There's an expansive breakfast and the staff is very friendly and multi-lingual. Well worth your time and money. I had some initial trouble with directions so here's the easiest way to get there: Directions from... More

Nice quiet place, you have to visit San Domenico (nice tipical restaurants) and Fiesole (nice view over Florence), too! Bus Nr. 7 to Firenze City (ca 20 min) just infront of the road, som meters to the house, but elevator in the Villa, no problem with the luggage.

Villa La Stella is a nice place to stay in. Although it's a little bit old fashioned and simple, it's very clean. Breakfast buffet is a little bit poor (or maybe it was out of season). The garden and whole neighborhood is really nice.

Villa La Stella is a beautiful place, very clean and the staff was lovely and helpful. A good breakfast buffet is included. It is a good choice for students or anyone on a tight budget as it is a very good value. However, the rooms are small and very plainly furnished, like a room in a college dorm.
