I recently returned from nearly a week stay at Locanda, and depending on your expectations, it might be the right fit or it might be a nightmare. Upon arrival, we entered a smoked filled office the permeated the entire floor and was notified that our room was not available that night. This seems to be normal occasion by previous comments.... We had paid for having a bathroom in our room, but didn´t end up getting it, so make sure you explicitly make sure you don´t get the same room we did (room 3). Riccardo was very welcoming and gave us a lot of recommendations food wise, which were all very good. It was fairly cheap and worth money and location... More

We made a reservation through Expedia for this hotel on our lap top, while driving to Florence. This place was difficult to find but once we got to the building, the office is on the second floor, no one answered. We rang the buzzer and knocked for over a half hour but no one showed and we finally left and... More

What can a B&B owner do if a guest arrives 4 hours later than the maximum check-in time (7.00pm) and doesn't call him directly (our phone numbers are written on the bell and in the bell and in the web agency voucher) but contacts Expedia, asking for another accomodation? Our check-in policies are clearly specified by the web agency and... More

If you say it is okay to be late don't get angry if we call at 7 exactly. I am familiar with Italian "work ethic." So when they say they go home at 7 they mean it. Except when they yell at you and happen to be at b and b still. And they come back later in the evening.... More

Nice rooms...feels like you are staying in a home. Because it is a bed and breakfast....MAKE SURE you get there by check in time or if not make sure you make arrangments ahead of time to pick up the key in a certain location. Near by are some great cafes where they serve great pizza and wine.

This B&B is located about a 10 minute walk east of the Duomo in a relatively quiet area. It is located on the second floor of a building shared with other tenants on the other upper floors. The manager is not on-site all of the time so you have to co-ordinate your arrival in advance; we did not do this... More

We stayed in room 2 so were en suite. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. Riccardo (the owner?) was very helpful when he was there but, it was unpredictable when he would be around. We were provided with vouchers each day to use for breakfast at Plaz a nearby bar/cafe - if we were not around then Riccardo... More

It was our first trip to beautiful Firenze and we were recommended this B&B by a friend. The rooms are nice and a decent size with private bathroom and breakfast is provided for free at a nearby lively and tasty cafe! Our stay was made all the better by Riccardo (thanks!) who checked us in and took the time to... More

Ricardo, the owner, was charming, but he was unavailable most of the time and this B&B did not even meet 2star B&B standard! I would neither return nor recommend this place! Where do I begin? 1. Our standard room was lousy! I am not complaining that it had no scenic view, that it was on the street front side or... More

Dear guest, thank you, first, for time you spended in giving us your opinion about your stay at Locanda de' Ciompi. We are so sorry about your words, but there are few things I would like to specify: 1) The smallest bed I have at Locanda de Ciompi , the one in your room, is 145 cm. The others are... More

We stayed at the Locanda de' Ciompi in June of this year and very much enjoyed our stay. Riccardo, who I believe is the owner, was very friendly and helpful with finding different museums and restaurants. The B&B is in a great, active location but is still quiet when you want to go to sleep at night. The only complaint... More
