Lovely staff and a clean room. You get what you pay for with the room. The wifi worked well. Could've had more options for breakfast but otherwise great! Close to the train station and a short walk from the attractions of Florence. Really enjoyed our stay!

My biggest issue with this hotel was the noise--loud and constant. The bed was not the most comfortable, but the biggest issue with sleeping was the noise. Breakfast was bare and spare; dry cereal, pastries, and yogurt. We offered to purchase some eggs if they would boil them for us, but no luck. The wifi rarely worked and when it... More

It's a quiet hotel. You can also relax and have breakfast outside in the shade in the lovely terrace with a view of the Duomo to top it all. It's conveniently centred next to the Santa Maria Station. Buses also pass by frequently. Within minutes you can go shopping or visit restaurants in quaint Florentine streets. In ten minutes you... More

The hotel is literally a 1-2 minute walk from the main train station in Florence and a 5-10 minute walk to the main Florence attractions. Although it is co-located with a couple of other hotels in the same building! The Alinari is on the 4th floor, reachable by a single "charming" but very slow and small elevator. The front desk... Hotel Alinari provided comfort and was at the perfect location to explore Florence. It is a short walk from the train station and from this hotel it is easy to walk all around the city. The rooms were small but comfortable and clean. Breakfast was basic and included cappuccinos, juices, eggs, pastries, meats, and cereals in addition to some other... More

This hotel is located very near (5 minute's walk) from the train station and also close to tourist attractions. It is by no means a Sheraton, but is perfectly adequate for the traveller that needs a place to sleep. Breakfast is basic and the same each morning (as are most breakfasts in Italy). The hotel is on floor 3 and... More

The location is the only good thing about this hotel. Just opposite the Santa Maria Novella train station and walking distance to the centre. I stayed at Alinari for 3 nights. Room was small but clean. The towels were more like table cloths than real towels. The tv in the room went off as soon as you put out the... More

There is no need during your vacation to be in a room that is OK but the common area to be the worst ever !!! The ladies were cleaning allllll day long ! The workers were all around with no reason .... Everybody making such crazy noise !!! NOBODY speaks English !!! Worst hospitality ever !

Easy walk from station, on a busy street but our room was right inside and very quiet. WiFi was fine, reception and other staff very helpful. Room & ensuite small (typical of what we found in Italy) but clean & comfortable. We thought the breakfast buffet was excellent and food was regularly replenished. Florence is a wonderful city - clean,... More

We didn't stay at hotel Alinari because they had a work on the roof and there were cables and workers everywere. We were in the underground floor, at the end of a corridor with no emergency exit, so we decided, travelling with our 2y.o. son, moving to another serious hotel.

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
