The hotel is in a great location, it is walking distance from the main train station. It offered a cold food buffet breakfast, with fresh fruit and tasty breads with cheeses of all sorts. Most places are walking distance with a street-side shopping strip just around the corner on Via Dei Panzani where everything leather is sold. Both the Cathedral... More

I was lucky it was only 1 night at this hotel. The only good thing about this hotel is it is located very close to the main train station in Florence. It was clean but the bathroom did have a strong odour. Not sure of what. The so called towels are not very good. They are like table cloths. The... More

This small hotel is very close to the main sights. That's kind of one of the only good things about this hotel. It is located in the center of the busy city. The train-station is also very close, quite convenient if you need to travel and don't want to spend money on taxi's. The breakfast is not good. Very little... More

Our little family had two nights here on our round the world adventure. It was a bit below the standard we had become used to, but it did the job. The room was clean (with a strong smell of vinegar), the size was good and the water was hot for a shower. We had no trouble with the wifi internet... More

The rooms are clean and spacious. The towels are changed daily and the beds also made daily. I had noted that some residents commented on the sheet like towels. Whilst I can confirm that these are the type of towels used I would have to say that I think this is the Italian way and actually they work pretty well.... More

This hotel is opposite the Central train station and not to be confused with the Alinari Cafe on the same street. The Hotel is situated on the 4th floor of the building, and is arrived at by using a very small lift that will only take 2 adults and 2 large cases. The rooms are spacious, but the renovators did... Lovely staff and a clean room. You get what you pay for with the room. The wifi worked well. Could've had more options for breakfast but otherwise great! Close to the train station and a short walk from the attractions of Florence. Really enjoyed our stay!

My biggest issue with this hotel was the noise--loud and constant. The bed was not the most comfortable, but the biggest issue with sleeping was the noise. Breakfast was bare and spare; dry cereal, pastries, and yogurt. We offered to purchase some eggs if they would boil them for us, but no luck. The wifi rarely worked and when it... More

It's a quiet hotel. You can also relax and have breakfast outside in the shade in the lovely terrace with a view of the Duomo to top it all. It's conveniently centred next to the Santa Maria Station. Buses also pass by frequently. Within minutes you can go shopping or visit restaurants in quaint Florentine streets. In ten minutes you... More

The hotel is literally a 1-2 minute walk from the main train station in Florence and a 5-10 minute walk to the main Florence attractions. Although it is co-located with a couple of other hotels in the same building! The Alinari is on the 4th floor, reachable by a single "charming" but very slow and small elevator. The front desk... Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections.
