We were a bit anxious to have selected a hotel only a few hundred meters from the train station, but it turned out to an excellent choice. Close to everything, walking to all of our destinations was simple and enjoyable and we were surprised to find a very good restaurant "La Lampara" just 20 meters from the hotel. The young... more

Traveling in Italy for 2 weeks with friends, we stayed at the Alinari (in room 144) for a week. Cristiano, the manager, is very helpful and accommodating. Located on the building's 4th floor, the hotel was always a welcome respite from the noisy streets and crowds of Florence. Our room was spacious, and the breakfast room is charming with a... more

I didn't have much expectations when I went to this hotel. But it definitely surprised me to see how convenient, clean and accomodating this hotel was. It is only 3 minutes walk to the train station which worked out perfect for us since we went to couple of day trips to Tuscany and Venice. We came from Rome by train... more

I am in Florence very often for business, though this time I stopped at Hotel Alinari. A warm welcoming from Cristiano and his team made my business stay totaly enjoyable. The breakfast is rich, good coffee and all your heart desires. Elegant and cozy designed rooms make you feel home and Cristiano especially helps you with any questions you made... more

Very basic, our towels were oversized napkins - literally, wafer thin square napkins. Very old & dark, lots of steps to carry your luggage, small bathroom with some mould, windows that don't shut properly. Unless you are on a strict budget, go somewhere else. more

Stayed here for two nights as the hotel I'd reserved originally had stuffed up my booking. Not a good start to the stay in Florence but then the place was so beautiful and charming that I didn't mind staying here. The receptionist during the day was a bit cold but the elderly gentleman in the evening had a pleasant demeanour.... more

We made a booking for a 3-bed room at Hotel Alinari through a Rome based booking agent. We get to the hotel at around 8pm and guess what; a 3-bed room wasn’t available for us. The greatest disappointment was the way the gentleman (Christiano Bianco, he said his name was) at the reception treated us. We were tired after a... more

We were very happy with this hotel. We were pleased to find it only 2 minutes walk from the station and with a small lift up to the 4th floor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Even carrying our bags to our room. The room was large and although it looked out onto a very busy street it was... more

If you are traveling by train, this hotel is very near to the station- a big plus with luggage. The hotel itself is average- clean room, decent size, on 4th floor. Short walk to the city center- 10 minutes to the Duomo. 5 minutes to internet access. Good breakfast. Nice terrace with good view. Our travel agent booked this for... more
