Absolutely Amazing Place to stay - located perfectly - an easy walk from the train station and right beside the Duomo and Tower - absolutely beautiful. It is central to everything you want to do whether it is the Gold Bridge, the Leather Market or the Farmer's Market - :) The reception is so welcoming both Georgio and Silvia are... More

My friend and I stayed here in February 2015. I found it in Rick Steve's guide and it did not disappoint. Great rate and the view of the Duomo was majestic. The bells woke me up at 7 am to see the sun rise and encourage me to go out and fall in love with Florence. We arrived late on... More

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was probably the best place we stayed out during our Italy vacation. The location was perfect - literally steps away from the Duomo. Despite the closeness to the main area, the hotel was really quiet. We had very little street noise. The hotel is on the top floor, and you need... More

Five of us spent 6 nights here, having visited previously in 2011 for a week. Apart from the incredible location, what also makes staying here so amazing is the friendliness and helpfulness of Silvia, Barbara and Francesca - nothing is too much trouble for them and they are a delight to deal with. The rooms are spotless and our Duomo... More

I wanted somewhere close to the centre of the city, so I chose Residenza Giotto Florence based on the reviews on Trip Advisor – and I was not disappointed. Without hesitation, this charming B&B ticked all of the boxes for me:- Location: 5 Sleep Quality: 5 Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Value: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Located right on Piazza Del Duomo,... More

This is a really great place to stay. The rooms are very clean and high quality with gorgeous dark hardwood floors. The view is amazing from the terrace and it's right there in the hart of the city. The host and hostesses were all so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really great too. I would highly recommend this place.

Location, location, location !!! Residenza Giotto is perfectly situated in the heart of Florence and our room had a beautiful view of the Duomo (be sure to book early if you want a view room). Barbara was waiting for us and showed us our room, as well as the rooftop breakfast room which also had a view of the Duomo.... More

This was our second stay at the Residenza Giotto. You step outside and you are right at the Baptistry with the Duomo just a few steps further. Our room was good sized and was equipped with a refrigerator and a kettle for making coffee. The room also had a great view of the Duomo. There is a terrace where you... More

This was our third visit to Residenza Giotto and it was as good as ever; fantastic central address, adjacent to the central Piazza, with views of the Duomo from the little roof terrace where you can breakfast, simply but adequately, and with charming staff. On an upper floor, but there is a lift. Very reasonable value for its location and... More

Our room was a very good size and the bathroom was nice but small (normal for all Italy hotels). The rooms were all located on the 4th floor but there was an elevator for you to use if you had luggage. The hotel was only a 10-15 minute walk from the train station in the case that you don't want... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
