Palazzo Gamba's location couldn't be more perfect, situated next to Florence Cathedral, within easy walking distance to all the sights and a wide range of delicious restaurants. Our room was also very spacious, and included everything we needed to make our stay a wonderful one.

Palazzo Gamba is located next to the Florence Cathedral. It is the perfect location in Florence, as there are sights to see all around, and plenty of restaurants in the area. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Also, our room was very spacious and had everything we needed.

I am in siting in the room as I write this review with the view of Duomo outside my window . It's also the only place in the plaza with a Balcony . You need to get the 2 bedrooms " raffaello" to get the only Balcony room. Just sit back and people watch in the square all day .... More

It has the best view imaginable, overlooking the Piazza of Santa Maria del Fiore and the Duomo. The flat is equipped with everything you could need, even a washer/dryer. The woman running the place, Cristina, was wonderful and had great tips about where to eat, shop, etc. This place is a gem.

I booked a room for my wife, my 18 year old daughter, and my wife's parents for a visit to Florence this past week so that my wife could visit my daughter who is spending her Freshman year at NYU Florence. The Palazzo Gamba has the most impressive setting, looking out directly onto the Duomo. The rooms are completely redone,... More

Our apartment was on the first floor of this lovely old building, situated on Piazza Del Duomo, one of our two large balconies overlooked the Cathedral. Upon arrival we were later that anticipated, but the concierge had waited for us. He welcomed us, handed over our keys, and gave us a very helpful map of the city. The two bedroomed... More

I LOVED my stay at the Palazzo Gamba. We were in the smallest apartment, the Verrocchio, and we were very happy. It's on the top floor. You can lean out a window and see the famous Baptistry, look down and see the street performers, or gaze at the lovely skyline. You can see the Duomo from the hallway window. Normally,... More

The Palazzo Gamba is a first class suits hotel. It is located just in front of the Duomo. The apartment is very nice and clean, the rooms are spacious and the kitchenette is well equipped. Ideal for families wishing to explore Florence. The price is fair and there is a selection of suits from one studio to 2 rooms +... More

The apartment is smaller than the pictures online, but its still a fair size, especially for only 2 individuals. It has a good, functional kitchen and 4 seater dining table, which is nice for a morning coffee or a sit-down dinner should you get sick of the crowds. We purchased some beautiful pasta from the markets and could cook them... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
