As four female friends enjoying a short break ,we couldn't have picked better than Palazzo Gamba. The apartment is central to everything cultural, shopping ,eating out etc,in a small extremely safe block. We had a lovely two bedroomed apartment with two bathrooms with shower, and sitting/kitchen area .It was spotlessly clean, and perfect for our needs.Yes ,it can be noisy at night, but nothing earplugs can't... more

We stayed for four nights with our sons aged 10 and 8. The apartment was perfect for our needs. The beds were large and comfortable and the kitchen gave us the option for in-room meals when we wanted them. From our room, we had beautiful views of the Duomo which was quite literally across the street. On Easter Sunday, we... more

This was the most unpleasant experience I ever met; like almost all the others in Italy. Four stars means two stars. The room was supposed to be with an old and beautiful furniture, the services were very bad almost inexistent form four to four days, the personnel was very bad trained actually one could met someone only from 12 to... more

When you make a booking for an hotel you HAVE TO READ the website!!In the palazzo gamba website is CLEAR that the Reception is open only from 12.00 to 19.30;it is CLEAR that the Palazzo Gamba is not an hotel! If you need the services you have to reserve an hotel and not an apartment!!Please read the other reviews and ask...

We had a spacious apartment that overlooked the piazza between the Baptistery and the Duomo. The location could not have been more superb. The apartment had all amenities, including a kitchen, and wonderful twelve foot ceilings. When it got too hot in the afternoon, we could sit in our living room and look out over the piazza. Tremendous location and... more

We spent 3 nights here and it was the perfect location to walk everywhere famous in Florence! We had 3 apartments as we were travelling together as 3 families. Like all other reviewers, only 2 of the burners on the stove worked, oven didn't work, and both showers flooded the bathroom in each of our rooms! Large fridge was very... more

As a native Italian living in the USA, I travel to Italy several times a year with my family of 5 and on business. In July 2007 our family stayed two times at the Palazzo Gamba. The only problem we encountered was the noise level from the first floor apartment we were given during our 2nd stay. We did not... more

Our family of 5 spent 7 nights in the Botticelli Apartment. Two-bedrooms on the 3rd floor with frescoed ceilings and a view of the duomo and baptistry. There was a small kitchen area, two of the four burners worked on the stove and a large refrigerator. There is a grocery store close by, which we took advantage of. The bus... more

This was an amazing experience. It won the prize for the best views in Italy. My husband and I as well as two friends stayed here for three nights. It was the best location for walking around the city. We were in the penthouse so the view was amazing. We spent every night sitting on our deck and we felt... more

I often turn to Trip Advisor reviews for guidance so I was surprised to find only eight, somewhat dated, but very good reviews about Palazzo Gamba on TA (but I did find lots of positive reviews on another popular website). The small number of reviews made me a bit apprehensive to book (2) two-bedroom apartments at the Palazzo Gamba for... more

We rented a two bedroom apartment. It was on the second floor. It was nice for our family of four and a family friend. As my family have one of the bedroom facing the Duomo and my friend has the other bed room. We had nice high ceiling. There are two small bathrooms off the living room area. It was... more
