Panella's residence is a beautiful and classy Bed and Breakfast filled with delightful antiques and accessories throughout. It is on a quiet street but a short walk to the Duomo and Accademia. Graziella and Dominique were charming hostesses and made us feel like family. The air conditioning worked very well. We had room 44 with a huge bathroom suite and... More

Pros:The clean and spacious room/bathroom, the bed, the AC, and the breakfast. Cons: Start breakfast a little early (7 or 7:30 am) as most guests usually have booked tours early in the morning or have to catch morning flights or trains We found our room including the bathroom to be very spacious and clean. The bed and pillows were very... More

A beautiful place in the hear of the city of Florence. The room we stayed was very exquisite decorated Italian Renaissance style. Very clean and comfortable large room with high celilings. Very close to Duomo, Accademia, Ponte Vechio and historic places and museum. The owner Graziela and her staff made our stay very pleasend.

Worth schlepping backpacks/suitcases to the 2nd (3rd, by North American counting) floor. The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom (used to be the kitchen of a monastery) - huge! Within walking distance to numerous attractions. Good breakfast served by a gracious hostes.

My family of four stayed at Panella's and had an amazing time. The rooms are huge clean, and very beautiful - the photos do not do it justice. The owner was very kind and very helpful - booking reservations and making recommendations. The location is fantastic - very central the duomo is just around the corner. I would highly recommend... The location is just a little bid off the grid but it's a walking distance to everything. The street is very quiet at night. The room has air conditioning, which is essential in summer time, a mini-bar and a small TV. The bathroom is huge! The breakfast takes place in the basement, which could be humid and warm at times.... More

Great small B&B just a few blocks away from the Duomo but walking distance to just about everything. Wonderful breakfasts in the basement (ask about the history of the building). Large room, extra pillows, iron, minifridge, air. Plenty of good suggestions for food, visiting attractions, and other from friendly owner Graciela (6th generation owner of the building). Note - lots... More

Thank you for your appreciation words. Unfortunately there were heavy storms which have caused damage to the Central Telecom, and also the road works carried out for over two weeks in Via Sant'Egidio, nearer us, have created hardships on many Internet lines. The damage was repaired and now the internet has taken the smooth operation fast. Sincerely. More

Great, spacious, clean room with good sized bath and shower. Graziella was absolutely terrific, so gracious, friendly and helpful. Cooked us a terrific breakfast and cappuccino and set up a taxi to pick us up for the airport at an ungodly hour. The location is just close enough for walking anywhere near the Duomo, Ufizzi and Academia, but in a... More

Panella's was situated in a historic street in the centre of Florence only five minutes walk from the dome. Our room was impeccable, incredibly large and tastefully decorated in classy vintage furnishings that gave a real taste of the city. There was also good air conditioning and a powerful hair dryer compared to most that we came across! Best of... More

We were visiting our daughter in Florence while she was there studying abroad. We stayed at Panella's Residence for 10 nights. As this was our first time in Italy, we were apprehensive about spending the entire time at one place. We quickly learned that we had made the right choice, when our flight was delayed by 10 hours, and Graziella... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
