For the price I think this hotel is great. It was a little difficult to find because it is right across the street from San Lorenzo and they have the open market in that piazza so there were booths set up in front of the building. It is a very convenient location right in the middle of Florence. I had... More

I stayed there last summer. This was not a hotel that I reserved by initially but was sent there by Hotel Lorena which I reserved online (they over bokked or something). GOOD: great location, staff ok, toiletries ok, tolilet and bathroom ok and clean, room ok and clean. I am ignoring all the noises from the street. BAD: The air... More

This small, affordable hotel in Florence is in an excellent location to access the main attractions in Florence and is an easy walk from the train station. The room was clean and comfortable. They serve an excellent morning breakfast. We slept well the first night but changed rooms on the second night and heard street noise from a nearby restaurant/bar... More

My room was tiny and very dark but was also quite quiet as it was round the side and away from the cobbled market. The choice you have to make may well be light vs noise! Good location and if you only want a place to go to sleep then this will do fine.

Rooms were nice, not 5 star, but just what you expect from 3 star. Staff are helpful, breakfast was good. Location is excellent, walking distance to the main train station and just outside a market place

We stayed at Giada Hotel in Florence for 2 nights (September 19–21, 2011). It's centrally-located, within easy walking distance of pretty much everything (the train station, Santa Maria Novella, San Lorenzo & Medici Chapel directly across the street, Il Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio, & Piazzale Michelangelo). We had a bit of difficulty finding the hotel because the name on... More

Stayed five nights at this little hotel right beside the San Lorenzo cathedral, and I would go there again on my next visit to Firenze. The staff was helpful and nice, breakfast ok and the location very central and near several great restaurants. A couple of the mornings were quite noisy but for an early bird like me that was... We found this hotel to be situated in a good location. Close to the railway station. The market is right outside the door. Great for shopping! The hotel itself was a bit of a dissapointment for us though. Our room was small, dark and gloomy. We had a twin room which only had one window which could not open and... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
