It's well placed a rather dark and musty old "mansion". It's not a hotel but apartments. Basic but adequate. The shower recess in our apartment was a case of a round peg in a square hole. Impossible to stoop or bend should you drop soap! Difficult to wash below waist but the plus is that one cannot fall over in... More

We booked San Niccolo on Priceline since it was advertised as a hotel. It is not a hotel, it is an apartment. A very outdated apartment with no housekeeping services. The bathroom in our apartment had only a thin board connecting it to the apartment next door, and we could hear everything they were saying, plus it didn't feel very... More

Having booked through lastminute.com this proved to be a good choice for visiting Florence while also providing a quiet retreat where we could cater for ourselves and have a glass of wine away from expensive restaurants when we wanted. In many ways this kind of residence style accommodation is a good compromise between a complete hotel based holiday and a... More

We booked San Niccolo on Priceline as a 4-star hotel. I don't believe that this place should be advertised as such, but we couldn't do much about it. It was an apartment and not a hotel room and included no housekeeping. It was fine for our purposes since we were only staying 2 nights, but I would have been upset... More

Resildence San Niccolo advertising is very mis-leading indeed as it would appear they have two types of accommodation available 1st the actual Apartment building it self as shown in the photos on the website and the 2nd be in a very old building on the opposite side of the car park with two separate apartments that is opened up by... The Resildence San Niccolo is the perfect spot! We stayed a week. Our suite was very large and consisted of a large kithcn, living/dining room with TV and internet access. The shutters opened to the street on the Arno River, one bridge down from the Ponte Delvecchio. It was clean, comfortable, and within easy walking distance of everyhthing! The concierge... More

I made this booking on Hotwire assuming that the "4 star" designation meant something. They mean nothing - this is not a hotel, it is an apartment; very poorly serviced; with tiny windows that look out over the river - if you stand up and peer out the view is wonderful but sitting down there is nothing to see; the... Could be a terrific property but comes up short. The Pro's: Apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean and modern in its appointments. Nice continental breakfast selection was provided in the room. The Con's: booked the place partly because it advertised internet connectivity - there wasn't any. When asked where I could find a local internet cafe the manager was vague, contradictory... More

We booked this hotel last minute as we were staying in Florence one night before flying out. We were pleasantly surprised the service at reception was excellent (got us in as soon as possible and booked our cab for the next morning) we got the little cottage, so cute, a bit dated but part of the charm, really clean and...
