We booked on the 27th May having searched Expedia for wifi included hotels in the centre. On arrival, the first thing the lady told my wife was that the wifi had been down for a month as she was changing providers. Wifi is something we really rely on when we travel as we use it to keep in touch with... More

Matteo and Manola treat you like family. This is a nice, simple, conveniently located hotel in the heart of Florence. Hotel Nazionale is perfect for the college student, the backpacker, the budget traveler or anyone who wants a simple hotel with no fuss. The hotel is a quick walk from the SMN train station.

Hotel Nazionale was a wonderful place to stay when I visited Florence. The rooms are large, the beds are comfy, and each room has it's own private bathroom and shower, which is really really nice! The staff couldn't have been nicer, which was one less thing we had to worry about. The location is great. Just a couple minute walk... More

Our room was large with a view of the Duomo. Right across the street from the Santa Maria Novella train station but still a quiet area. Easy to get around by walking. Very near two bus companies that will take you anywhere in Tuscany. The five free computers down on the mezzanine is a great help. Breakfast was filling and... More

There was no elevator, and no offer of help with the bags was made. The included breakfast consisted of warm instant orange juice (Tang), instant coffee, and some bread. The room was quite small, and the bathroom was even smaller. Spray from the shower could not be contained within the shower compartment. The room was very overpriced. The location, however,... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
