We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 2 week trip to Italy. The room we got was large, clean and fairly comfortable. The breakfast is basic but included in the price. Overall, with this hotel, you get what you pay for. We paid 60 euros a night and we were quite happy with it for that price.... more

We stayed at hotel Toscana for 4 nights in June 2009. We booked because of a reasonable price. All we needed was a room with shower and air conditioning. Our room did have the functioning air conditioning unit, but it took a separate trip to the manager to get a remote control for it. The roomed cooled quickly enough so... more

This is a long review, but read the entire thing if you are considering this hotel or have booked it already. I am hoping that this review will save someone else from the frustration and aggravation that my family and I encountered during our trip. My family and I were traveling on our annual family vacation to Italy. Since we... more

We were supposed to stay in Hotel Toscana for 2 nights, Saturday and Sunday. We had paid around 150 euro per night to stay in the hotel Toscana which is being advertised as 3-star. When we arrived Saturday afternoon, Guido (young man, who claimed that he was the manager of the hotel) handed us the keys to the hotel "upstairs"... more

Hotel Toscana is a no frills 2 star hotel, the cleanliness of the room was very good. The floor in the room was tiled with no carpet this made the room feel very cold underfoot. The rooms could do with redecorating. There were damp stains on the walls and in the bathroom there was a small door which was very... more

We did not like anything. The complete information in terms of the photographs in any web page and quality of rooms are completely false. The room were we were staying was absolutely hopeless there is no room to move around in the bathroom contrary to the photograph shown. This is a complete cheating on the part of either the hotel... more

My girlfriend and I needed a place to stay for the Florence leg of our trip, and, since we had already splurged in San Gimignano, we just needed a place to sleep. Hotel Toscana was perfect for what we needed. At just 40 Euros a night, it provided a place to get some shut eye. Breakfast was included in the... more

Great budget hotel -- would stay again. Great location -- within 5 minute walk of Stazione Maria Novella, 10-15 minute walk of P. S. Giovanni and Ponte Vecche, laundromat conveniently across the street, easy to find from train station, good breakfast with variety of items from salame to eggs and cereal. Had elevator, breakfast and a/c for no extra charge... more

For a 1 star hotel I rate this hotel as above average. It is only a 5-10 minute walk to the Florence central train station. Rooms are spacious but the bathroom is very small. Specially the shower area. My elbows kept on hitting the sides. Let me tell you about fantastic Fabio - young friendly man at the reception area.... more

The three of us -- wife, 11 year old daughter, and I -- were very happy with this choice. Walking distance to bus/train and main shopping/museum areas. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Our room was more spacious than we expected. more
