We only spent two nights here but enjoyed it. In a good location for the centre of Florence and just down the road from the train station. Our room and the bed were large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a treat p, served opinion the courtyard under an orange tree. The service was a bit hit and miss but there... More

This little hotel is such a quaint escape inside Florence. The staff are all so friendly and willing to go the extra mile for their guests. We arrived early and were immediately shown to our room. It was impeccably clean. The breakfast was delicious with an interesting variety of cold items to choose from on their buffet. I would recommend... More

One of the worst hotels we stayed in Europe! Free wi fi never worked, neither did the computer that was in the room. You have to take 4 flights of stairs to go up in reception. If you have big suitcases like we did, it is quite a tiring thing to do. Rooms were small but we were kind of... More

Dear guest, as to His words, we would appreciate explain to travelers coming, what had happened. Your prentoazione was for a double room. You're there in the third, a CHILD OF 9 YEARS. Francesco, receptionist for years, offered the triple room, coin for a small fee. The wifi fuonzionava, your laptop no instead. All our Opsite are written before the... More

10 minute walk to all of the main attractions. Friendly staff and clean room. Simple breakfast, good coffee machine. There are 41 steps up to the hotel which can be difficult with suitcases and people with limited mobility. The hotel has a noisy air conditioning unit in the room although it is very efficient.

you have several flights of stairs to walk up and the front entrance is a large wooden door with a buzzer, different than typical NA hotels. Great staff room was quite large we faced the back and heard nothing at night. Convenient to the Train Station 15 minutes to the Ponte Vechio. Breakfast was good wine is available in the... More

Great location and friendly and helpful staff, but I was with my aunt and she is older, so the stairs were kind of a problem for us! Anyway, if the stairs are not a problem for you, it's a great hotel! The room is nice and comfortable, just the bed for the third person, in the case, is not so... More

This is a great little hotel. I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The 2+ sets of stairs were difficult to negotiate, the free Wifi was on the blink and it was friday night so the noise from the Pub outside and from the reception was disturbing. However the room was nice and a reasonable (not big) size for 2, the bathroom was functional (particularly the shower) and clean and it was close... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
