For those who like to touch on what a great hotel must have been like - at a fraction of the cost - try Consigli. The hotel is on the river bank, and while the rooms look away from the river, there is a stunning terrace on the second level facing the river, ponte vecchio etc. The location is very... more

Staff is kind but the hotel itself needs some repairs and paint on the walls. The breakfast is meager at best. The decor is way out-of-date. The shower curtain had mold on it. The bathroom floor was stained. more

This is a one-star dump (with an admittedly excellent location) masquerading as a three-star hotel. The fixtures do not work, the security is poor, the furniture carpeting is tatty and the breakfast was the worst we had in Italy. Some of the staff try to be helpful, but it is an uphill battle for them in such a poor work... more

Recently my husband and I stayed at Consigli for 2 nights during our Florence trip. It was one of the worst hotels we must have stayed at. When we returned to our room at night after a long day, our room was stinking. The shower area was broken so when I took my shower there was a huge puddle in... more

Beautiful old house in a lovely position. Our room was large with high ceilings and large sash windows. The decor in our room needed updating - there were stains on the ceiling and a few wooden floor tiles missing. It reminded me a little of a school convent (apart from the TV and minibar). The bathroom was huge but again... more

We stayed here for three nights. We had booked a twin room, but on arrival were shown to a double room. We said that we had booked a twin, and produced our booking reference. The owner made a big deal of checking his room sheet, said that he had no free twins tonight, and would move us in the morning.... more

After staying at the Consigli in 2006 with my husband whilst we were touring Europe on A Motorbike - I chose this hotel for a holiday with some girl friends - It was disappointing this time round.. whilst our room was very large and comfortable (we were lucky enough to have the room leading straight out onto the terrace). The... more

I've just returned from a visit to Florence where I was booked into the Consigli for four nights from 14th August to 18th August. I was allocated Room 15 and the receptionist directed me to a out-building at the back of the hotel, where I went up some narrow concrete steps to the first floor where there were three rooms.... more

This hotel was a Reaissance bankers home. Therefor the rooms size and bathrooms will very. We were there with my sister and her husband and while we had a smaller bathroom, they had a large bathroom. Hotel is very clean and has an excellent breakfeast in a formal room with high ceilings. Hotel is Arno River and hotel has a... more

This Hotel is in a nice location on the Arno, about 15 mins to the main attractions and the walk there is quite nice. The staff are friendly also and the price was reasonable. Please don't expect luxury however. When you open the door to the room for the first time, it is like stepping back in time. Brown, Grey... more
