My husband and I stayed here for one night in August and it was in excellent location, very central, 13 minute walk from the train station and close to all the city centre and looking out onto the main river and bridges in Florence. Smallish room but for a 3 star, reasonable with a fridge, tv, hairdryer and a really... More

This hotel is centrally located but in a with location on the river. Our room was on the second floor and yes, they have a lift. The roof top terrace was spectacular, particularly at night, giving wonderful views of the city. Our room was clean, quiet and the air conditioning was also very quiet. The breakfasts were basic but adequate.... More

This is a great old villa converted to a hotel . It is located along the Arno river with beautiful views of Florence. It is a short walk to Ponte Vecchio and the center. They offer a free breakfast and a nice room with a view of the river. This was my second time staying here and was very pleased.... More

The hotel was a close walk to the main attraction and to the train station so no need for cabs. It was located in a quiet place right at the water front, with stunning views of Florence and the bridges from the rooftop terrace. Our room was basic, but still clean and spacious. The value for money makes this hotel... More

Very close to everything and very very charming. It's our third time here and three's charm. We will be back.... 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We can walk every where and it's right on the river. Our rooms are extremely clean and all rooms have air if needed. It's a 10 minute walk from Ponte Vecchio. Its the third bridge down from the oldest... More

First thing I need to mention is this hotel consists of two buildings. We weren't aware of this when we booked, not that it made any difference to us! The reception is in the front building at the Arno River entrance. Staff were friendly and gave us restaurant suggestions and directions to attractions. Our room was enormous! It was the... More

Lovely hotel right on the river, nice walk to shops and train station etc. The staff were fantastic and really went out of their way to look after me. I'm picky about cleanliness and this place was impeccable! Good value as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We got this reservation in a hurry based on the vicinity of the Arno and of course the prices. It's a nice hotel, helpful staff but don't take the rooms in the "dependence" or you will regret. They didn't invest much in them and you can tell. Maybe some of other rooms are better but not these ones. Quite costly... More

A moest hotel in an old beautiful building, great location just by the river, close to downtown with a 10 minute walk from the central parts, very easy to find as well. Unhelpful staff, wifi substandard and breakfast a joke. The hotel could with serious refurbishment be very nice.

Beautiful hotel with high ceilings and nice decor. However, that does not apply to the rooms that are located in the small house in the back yard... No internet in the rooms and loud street life just outside the window. Varying service. The owner and the night watch in the reception were nice and friendly, but another receptionist was outright... Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
