The hotel is located only 5 minutes away from the Duomo and about 20 minutes from the train station and it's situated on the second floor of a very large building. Which means, you have to climb at least 4 flight of stairs (I climbed an extra flight as our room were upstairs) The staff were polite, courteous and friendly.... more

Hotel Bavaria's top features are its location, between Basilica Santa Maria del Fiori and river Arno, close to the main attractions and to the shops, its staff, a group of very nice and helpful people, and its price. There are a few flights of stairs till the hotel, so be ready for some luggage carrying. The room itself was large... more

Just as what everyone else said - terrific, helpful staff. My friends and I had long trips and arrived late between 2 - 3:30 am. (the front desk is scheduled to close at 1 am) Staff was happy to help. We also arrived by car - not a good idea in central Florence where you can't get in without permit.... more

Central, clean, rustic, big (huge really) rooms and pleasant staff right next to the main tourist attractions for a ludicrously low price. Good stuff! more

Me and my boyfriend spend here 6 nights. It's really lovely and cosy place to stay, with beautiful architecture. Standard in that price is ok, it's clean, breakfasts were small (depends what you like) - coffee, cereal, jam, roll. You can not expect to have a very high standard for that price. It' very close to all monuments, restaurants...you can... more

NO airconditioning in June and 30C at night is challenging. Kids all ended up with bug bites. I ended up paying over 110Euro for a quad room which I find was expensive given no ammenities (private bath though) and a very continential breakfast (bread, cereal, cheese, juice). For the price, we could have done better......it was more like a 70Euro... more

I had a great experience at the Bavaria. Yes there are stairs to climb but after my month in Florence I found there are many stairs everywhere so this is not unusual. The room was beautiful, the staff very helpful and the price excellent. There is an echo of noise in the hallways but not enough to disturb my sleep... more

Our room was huge by Italy's standards! The bed was comfortable and the room was nicely decorated. We stayed for four nights. The staff members were gracious and informative. The only complaint that we have is that on the second and third nights, a large group of American, drunken, rowdy, teenage/college-age kids stayed in the room next to us. They... more

Was a bit tricky to find as florence is all tall buildings & narrow streets, once there superb location. Room was spacious, simple & clean and the whole building oozed historical atmosphere, could see that stairs may be a problem for some people, but personally found ok. Breakfast not the best, but adequate. Only problem we had was with a... more
