The hotel is in a VERY GOOD LOCATION and allows you to get around. You can even walk from the metro if you want ,its about a 15 min walk. You have to walk up three flights of stairs to get to the hotel. Its an old castle and does not have air conditioing that was the only down side... More

This is a cheap hotel in a great location. Friendly staff. It was nice saving so much money and being in the heart of Florence, but I don't think we'll stay here again. At least not in the summer - the lack of AC made things very uncomfortable. The wifi could only be used in the main lobby, and there... More

Lovely spacy rooms, historical sorroundings. Very friendly staff! No aircondintioning so very hot, but they put ventilators in the room. Breakfast was sufficient. Nothing fancy, but breadrolls, yogurt, cornflakes, juice, milk, tea, coffee and a variety of jams/pates. I will choose it again.

Seven nights stay at this centrally situated hotel that used to be the small palace of an 18th century noble man; close to the cathedral and most tourist attractions. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and large. We had a balcony, a shower and washbasin in the room and a shared toilet on the same floor. Wi-Fi only in the... More

The location is very good. Clean enough . The bathroom can be private rather than public that price. Breakfast is standard . Our room had high ceilings and was very nice. Our room had a balcony and was towards backyard. However, it was noisy at the front side rooms as seen.

This hotel's location puts you right in the middle of beautiful Florence. As others have said it is on the third floor, there are many stairs to climb. The hotel staff the day we checked in was very friendly and helpful our second day there not so much. There is no air conditioning and while we were comfortable at night... More

Location is great and good value but rooms get very hot; lock on our room door was slightly dodgy (we had to ask the people to let us out the room!) and even though they say shared bathroom be warned you are sharing with about 6/7 other rooms and so if anyone takes a shower you will be waiting a... Hotel Bavaria is just five minutes from the Duomo, and there's good food and a supermarket just down the street from Bavaria. It's on the second floor, so if you've got heavy luggage, be prepared to break a sweat! The breakfast was decent. Our rooms were huge! You could even play soccer inside. We had an attached toilet & bath,... More

Hotel Bavaria was conveniently & ideally located within walking distance of all of the major sights, with great restaurants etc. nearby. It was clean & comfortable enough with all basic needs & a private bathroom, as we were in the family room, with a more than adequate europran style breakfast provided in the breakfast room every morning. They're the good... More

This hotels location is fantastic. Off a lovely street the entrance into the courtyard is very impressive. The entrance to bavaria is on the 2nd floor up stairs so no good for anyone with mobility issues. Our room was on the 3 rd floor again up stairs. It was very large with basic amenities and a great view. decor is... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
