This was one of the best choices we made in our trip to Italy. This place was fantastic, especially for the price. It is i. The center of Florence, a less than 5 min walk to the train station and to the duomo. The building is old which added to the appeal. High ceilings and all rooms unique. Breakfast was... More

Very nice hotel to stay, it is well kept. Stayed 3 nights in a beautiful room on the second floor facing the street. Room and bathroom was huge, nicely decorated and good quality furniture. At night not noisy at all. Bed (firm) and pillows extremely comfortable to me. Breakfast was good in terms of variety (yogurt, jam, butter, Nutella, croissants)... More

Near the main railway-station and in short walking distance from all the things one comes to Florence for. We had a beautiful and comfortable 'antique' room showing the old beams of the ceiling. Helpful and friendly staff who helped with the suitcases as the rooms are not on ground-floor and there is no lift. Italian breakfast included. Plenty of eating... More

stayed here for two nights this week. It was very easy to find after i looked at google maps, its only 5 minutes from the train station/ bus stop from pisa airport. Its only a two star hotel, so don't expect luxury, if all you want is a bed and breakfast then this place does exactly what it says on... More

Within walking distance of everything. Staff (family) is amazing. They went out of their way to make our visit the best! This will be my go to place in Florence. Breakfast and internet included. Love the charm of this hotel.

We stayed here in April, visiting Florence for the first time.Of course I read before the TripAdvisor reviews. .which they put us in doubt. But, surprisingly this hotel is great, we received a warm welcome (and the receptionist speaks good English). The room was clean and welcoming, and was a good value for money. And don't worry, you are not gonna... More

This is a perfect hotel as a base for a weekend break. Fantastic location - just 2 mins walk from the train station and 5 mins from Duomo, couldn't ask for more. Room was clean and functional - though a little loud if you're in a room on the front/main street. Breakfast is fine, croissants and bread, and coffee machine... More

I can understand both the good and bad reviews of this hotel. I travelled around Italy a decade ago and stayed in a lot of places like this, so when I walked in and saw the owners and their dog watching TV in the breakfast room I didn't blink an eyelid! But if you're looking for a proper "hotel", then... More

We had a nice, large, double room with a high ceiling that was decorated Renaissance-style. The location was great, near the SMN train station and the San Lorenzo market, and a short walk to the Duomo.

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections.
