The Duilio was clean and comfortable, and just out of the main bustle of Florence's central area. The US consulate is a block away towards town, and they've cut off the main street in front of the hotel to road traffic. This is to the Duilio's disadvantage, in reducing foot traffic, but to your advantage, as it quiets the street... more

Pros ---------------- • Vincenzo's kindness and knowledge of the neighborhood and the city • Next to the Arno River • Safe, since it's next to an important building, the police are always nearby. • It's next to a Travel Agency. Perfect for booking flights or train tickets and reservations. They speak great English • Everything you need is nearby, super... more

My cousin arranged our three nights in Florence. She had no hesitation in choosing Hotel Duilio, booking direct by Email, after she had stayed there on her third visit to Florence in 2008. Yes there are several flights of stairs, but lovely Vincenzo first met us to carry up our bags. He was always friendly & helpful with lots of... more

We booked a last minute room at the duilio hotel based on the great reviews. I wonder how can it be that people forgot to mention that the hotel is inside a residence building and on the 3rd floor with no elevator. The room was very small, and the location isn't so great as well. after that being said i... more

Stayed at this Hotel in Florence, March 09. Clean, welcoming, great location. Vincenzo is a mine of information and will guide you to some good restaurants. My advice is to hire a bicycle to travel around Florence if you can. I will stay here again when I return to Florence. Do book direct with Vincenzo, he will appreciate that. Mark,... more

This is a great budget option , particularly as the owner Vincent made me feel so very welcome. He recommended some great places to eat - real local places - and went out of his way to be helpful. The location is good, within 10 or 15 minutes walk of the very centre of Firenze and it is in a... more

Hotel Duilio is certainly a budget hotel, the rooms a little older and worn, but clean and comfortable. I stayed with a friend in a double room without private bath, but there was a sink in the room which was very convenient. We were also the only ones slated to use the shared bath, so we had it all to... more

We stayed at the Duilio for two days on our trip of Italy. The hotel owner, Vicenzo is a very friendly man and is a great guide in giving you the history of the place as well as the culture and cuisine. The rooms were very comfortable except for the bathrooms which were small. Besides, the hotel was more like... more

First, the hotel is at the top of four flights of stairs and does not have a lift. Secondly however, Vincenzo carried our bags up for us - PHEW!!. On arrival he made us two lovely cups of coffee which were needed after our travelling that day. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There is a fantastic selection of... more
