We staid 4 nights while visiting Florence. The staff at the Hotel is amazing and made up for the dated rooms that were infested with Mosquitos and had plumbing problems as well. We were at least fortunate to stay in the back of the hotel, however, another couple traveling with us had a room on the street side and could... More

When we returned to the hotel in the evening we were told that a few rooms were broken into. The hotel said that there isn't CCTV in the hotel due to privacy protection hence there is no way to investigate. Apparently the police turned up after midnight but nothing could be done... More

Florence is beautyfull. You need to visit this city but I do NOT recommend THIS HOTEL. Poor hotel with poor staff and facilities. Airconditioning was bad, and the breakfast too. Nothing was so good to recommend it.

The room was comfortable, quiet and clean & very easy walking distance to transport, restaurants, shops & places of interest. Free wifi which worked well in the room.Breakfast was very good & wait staff were very friendly. My one... More

Stayed in a Quad room for a night. Room on a smaller side, bathroom good. Arrived Florence @ 10 AM. Left luggage in the cloak room (free) and took a train to Pisa. Got Back from Pisa @ 4 PM. Checked into room and roamed around touristy Florence sights, which are very much doable on foot. No need for any... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
